Springwood Cottages
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 31, 2013

I just arrived back home after our second trip to Springwood. What a great week. Access is easy, the resort is perfect cottage country, and we loved our cottage. Great location, good size, clean and well equipped. Response to any issues is quick and resolved right away. All that is to be expected.

The extras are that the owners are incredible - they care about their business, but they care so much more about the experience of the customers. They are warm, great with the kids, and always have a smile on their faces. The kids enjoy it so much, they make a point of going to find Jola and Cezar each morning! The kids love the activities which adds to the excitement each day for them. Even their award for the sand sculpting competition was hand delivered after they left the beach for some quiet time.

We arrived as customers and departed as friends. We've already booked for next year. My sister (this was her first visit) booked again within an hour of arrival!

I'd love to keep this as our own secret gem (and never have to fight for a booking), however, this resort deserves a great rating! BTW, I've never felt the need to write a review before and I travel extensively.

We just got back from our 4th stay at Springwood Cottages. We've already advance booked for 2014 and 2015.
There are many reasons we go back, some of which are:
1. Jola and Cezar make everyone feel welcome and really try and make sure you enjoy your stay as much as possible
2. A fun family oriented activity each day - hot dog party, sand castle competition, fishing derby, awards bonfire, movie night
3. The resort is set up so that you meet the other cottagers. There are communal bbq pits and communal bonfire each night. Some cottages have their own BBQ and/or fire pit, but using the communal ones give you the chance to meet your neighbours and this gives the whole resort a friendly atmosphere.
4. Sandy Beach is shallow for a long way out, which is great for young kids.
5. Cottages are all very nice and well taken care of.
6. Sand toys, beach chairs, volley ball, badminton, and various other outdoor games are already there so you don't need to bring your own.
7. "Extra areas" - hammocks, hammock chairs, gazebos etc.

Each year my children have had a great time and meet lots of other kids to play with. They always look forward to going back. All the other cottagers are so friendly - Springwood's format seems to attract people that are friendly. It's nice to see people from the previous year as well as meeting new people. This year my children (who are almost 6 years old) made lots of friends at the beach, got invited to go on another cottagers's boat, joined in a volleyball game with older children and adults, played goofy games with kids their own age and did a bit of hanging out with teenage girls they met the year before, who are extremely nice to them. They were proud to lend their inflatable beach toys, fishing poles and share hot dogs and marshmallows at the bonfire. They also offiicially joined the Cezar fan club, you would think he was a rock star the way all the kids want to say hi to him or talk to him. This is a first year we rented a pontoon boat and it was a nice excursion.

Just a note to make sure your kids join the fishing derby because everyone gets a prize (or many prizes) even if they don't catch a fish.

Another example of how Jola and Cezar really make a difference - one cottager's car broke down on the way to the cottage and the car rental places were all closed. Cezar actually went to Belleville to get them and all their stuff and brought them to the resort.

We have been going to Springwood for four years now and have not only booked for year five in 2014 but pre-booked for summer of 2015.
The owners Cezar and Jola are exceptional individuals who with their wonderful staff keep the property and cabins clean and in excellent condition. If you have any concerns they will do whatever they can to ensure your stay is memorable. They encourage family fun and interaction with other cottagers through a greet and meet BBQ and a family oriented catch and release fishing derby with education on proper fish handling. And don't forget the Sandcastle completion where everyone is a winner :)

We had a ladies long-weekend away at Springwood this summer and we could not have asked for a better weekend!! Based on a friends recommendation, this was my first visit to Springwood and I will definitely be back. The resort is beautiful and extremely well kept. You can really tell the owners care about their property.

There are hammocks and gazebos everywhere, a beautiful beach, volleyball court, and bonfires every night. The owners, Cezar and Jola took us out on boat rides and went out of there way to make sure we had a fantastic visit. I loved fishing with Jack, their dog. He kept me company while I cast a few lines! Our cottage was great. We had everything we could need for a relaxing and comfortable weekend. We even had a screened in porch to play cards in when we had some rain.

I can't wait to go back. Springwood is a fantastic place and the sunsets over lake Kennebec are stunning!!

This was our 6th year at Springwood, once again the accomadation, grounds and service were spectacular. Cezar and Jola put their heart and soul into making our vacation flawless. Our 10 reason Why ?
1. The resort grounds are maintained each day, and improved each year.
2. The beach is beautifully maniculared each day by Jola's mom.
3. The cottages are spotless and well maintained
4. The facility equipment/rentals (boats) - Cezar and his staff are quick to please
5. The fishing is great - we had a family of 25 and had a great fish-fry for all !
6. The service is impeccable and friendly, "no" isn't an option for Cezar and Jola
7. The lake is perfect - not busy, clean and the scenery is outstanding
8. The response to any need is immediate...no wait time for anything you need or your cottage might be missing...just ask and it's there in no time
9. The check in and check out are smooth and painless
10. The quiet spots, BBQarea, and game areas, gazebos and beachtoys, are all there for all to add to a spectacular week
The resort has many quiet areas, gazebos, even screened in ones that allow for quiet nature loving moments. The BBQ area is cleaned each day and is a great social spot to meet your fellow cottagers while you sip a cold one and get dinner too. Each day, there is some sort of fun activity planned by Cezar and Jola to make for good old fashioned family fun, like sand castle contests, movie night and a fishing derby. All of this and best of all, the price is right! You really need to see it for yourself to truly appreciate it!

We just got back from another amazing (hot and sunny) week at Springwood Cottages. my family has been going to Kennebec Lake for 60 years and to Springwood Cottages for the last 9 years. The upgrades that Cezar does to the cottages and property year after year are very nice and he and Jola really know how to accomodate their guests. The activities for kids are great and the waterskiing and tubing is a lot of fun with Cezar driving. You can tell they love what they do and I am sure that we will keep coming back for many years to come.

We have been going to SpringWood Cottages now for our entire lives. The place is clean, affordable, and full of GREAT fishing. We never had any problems. The cottages are all modern and up to date. There are docks to dock your boat. A very large beach, four wheelers, and a family type atmosphere. I really enjoyed my time at Springwood. Thanks to Cezar for such a great time year after year.

Room Tip: Stay near the water.
