My wife and I have just returned from an excellent 3 night stay at Park Place Guest house. Maxine, the owner couldn't do enough - on arrival we were welcomed instantly with a coffee and tea and a smile! She then took us to our room, which was amazing! It was even better than the images on the Internet! It was very quaint, clean and surprisingly spacious. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, but the views from either window were just amazing! Though the guest house was situated on an A road, no lorries travelled past and very few cars! At night, not a sound could be heard - beautiful!!
The breakfast was delightful - all freshly cooked! There was a plentiful amount of food and the staff couldn't do enough for you in the morning! Excellent!!! The evening meals were also excellent to and I would highly recommend the Welsh lamb chops, but the vegetables that accompanied the meal were all fresh and tasty. It was all brought locally and prepared on the day, and best of all - home made!
The location was great, it is so nearby to two great pubs - one down the road (The Vine room) and the other over the bridge (The Bridge Inn). Apologies if the titles of the pubs are not correct, but they are both within a 5 minute walking distance and offer excellent food and real ales! Really worth a visit! To the centre of Crickhowell from Park Place is a short relaxing walk - no more than 10 minutes, but there are some beautiful views, which my wife and I would not have had the pleasure of experiencing if we had stayed elsewhere!
Something worth commenting about town centre locations: My parents stayed at The Bear (apparently the best in Crickhowell), and they were paying twice as much and they were both disappointed! The room was dull and had a hotel feel about it! They said they just felt like another customer! When they visited Park Place, they to were amazed with the quality of the room and views! My wife and I feel that we had a lucky escape as we were going to stay there originally!!!
Overall the guest house was superb and value for money. Maxine, thank you for your superb hospitality and sorry that my mum pinched all the hot chocolate and tea in the basket (something she didn't experience at The Bear) in the room!! We intend to take the children, so they to can experience a truly unforgettable welcome in the hillsides!!

We had the pleasure of staying in this excellent family run guesthouse again for a short time. We have stayed here several times before and once again I found the rooms spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We stayed in the honeysuckle room and our son in the daffodil room. Both rooms had en suite facilities and pleasent views of the river Usk, Breacon and the Black mountains. The owner and her family were very welcoming and did everything to make our stay a memorable one, even recommending places to visit. The food was extremely good and plentiful. I will definately be going back here soon

We stayed for 2 nights in the Rose room. The room was spacious, had a lovely view, was spotless and the bed was very comfy! The only downside was the bathroom wasn't ensuite, but all the other rooms do have ensuites. The bathroom, again, was spotless and nicely decorated. Dont expect a power shower as the water pressure was a little weak!

Our host was very helpful indeed, from suggesting local walks to making us very welcome. The breakfast was amazing, we both had the welsh breakfast, but items are interchangeable between menus. It was a very tasty tummy filler for the long walk ahead.

The b&b is situated on the main road, with lots of parking. Don't let the roadside location put you off, I didnt hear a car all night. Just down the road was an excellent restaurant called The Vine Tree. The food was delicious and there was lots to choose from.

Excellent B&B - I would recommend!

A traditional B&B in the Brecons but with a very courteous and helpful host, who produced an excellent evening meal for our stay.

The rooms are not overly large but they are very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Located just outside the village of Crickhowell, adjacent to the river the outlook is pleasant indeed.

Breakfast was first rate as was our evening meal organised in advance.

Our hosts provided great advice on a picturesque route via the Wey Valley as we transitted to Cornwall.

Great value for money and a clearly above average B&B.
