Description: The restaurant at Ynyshir is one of Wales' most unique and contemporary fine dining destinations and holds four AA rosettes as well as its Michelin Star. The focus is on the complete experience, a journey through our landscape and through our seasons. The restaurant serves alternative British tasting menus using the very best of Welsh and British produce. The menus showcase the best of Welsh ingredients following the seasons, such as Welsh Wagyu Beef and Anglesey Onions throughout the year, as well as locally foraged sea herbs from the estuary and greens from the woodland floor and Ynyshir's extensive gardens. During hunting season expect to see wild deer and local duck, grouse and partridge, and in summer Welsh Lamb from the Dyfi valley. Gareth and his team pickle, salt, ferment and preserve fruits, leaves and berries carrying the harvests through the winter and into the spring. Expect to see dishes such as 'Not French Onion Soup', 'Mackerel Sweet & Sour' and Gareths take on a Tiramisu all served alongside a carefully selected wine-list whilst overlooking the Cambrian mountains and Ynyshir's extensive gardens

“Dinner with friends”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

On the whole good food, some of the savouries were considered too sweet.
Lunches were better.
We went too early in the season, no atmosphere.

“Loverly setting but large portions”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

The food was very good but rather large portions especially after the canapes and extra courses provided.

“Lunch at your leisure”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

The setting and the service is formal, but friendly and the food is imaginative with beautiful flavours. Went out there for a special lunch treat and that is exactly what we got. I had pheasant terrine and then mallard finishing with cheeses. My wife had a cauliflower veloute, then salmon finishing with a wonderful chocolate dessert. Extensive wine list, which will assist in blowing any budget. All in all we had a great lunch and a great day out

“Culinary Genius”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

Ynyshir Hall is a unique gem in the jewel box of Relais & Chateaux - the Dining Room is a place where art and genius meet in the kitchen and the results will surprise in the most delightful way... highly recommended. And not over-priced.
