“Excellent B&B”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Stayed here at the end of June as part of a group visiting Skomer Island for a photography course.

Arrived here after a relatively easy journey (the GPS was spot on for once!) and to a very friendly welcome from Martin and Victoria. I have some mobility problems and was a little concerned about access, but it turned out to be fine and Martin kindly helped with taking my bags to my room. They do have a ground floor room as well if stairs are a problem.

The accommodation was excellent. The room (3) was bright and very clean with a compact en-suite with shower. There was also a hospitality tray, flat screen TV and plenty of storage space. Everything I could have needed was supplied and I had a very comfortable stay.

Breakfast needs to be ordered the night before and one is given menus to do this. There was a very good choice and it was well cooked and nicely presented. The owners do fish and chips on Friday and Saturday nights - the best I have had for a long time and definitely recommended! There is also a small bar.

The owners have a small campsite at the back of the guest house and I observed this to be very well kept and with quite a lot of facilities. The grass looked better kept than many peoples' front lawns!

In summary, an excellent stay and I would happily return to Foxdale Guest House if I am in the area again.

Victoria and Martin (and Victoria's mom) were lovely, accommodating hosts. I stayed 3 days and two nights in their B&B and had a ball. The room was cute, clean and comfortable. I went over to Skomer to see the puffins and other birds which was lovely and this was the perfect location to leave from. I also spent some time at Marloes sands which is a gorgeous beach but also quiet and serene.

I must mention Martin's fish and chips which were so yummy! They are truly friendly people without being intrusive. Breakfast was included and was also delicious. There are lovely views nearby and it was quiet and I could enjoy the peace of the countryside. It also is nearby to some pretty villages for a bit of exploration.

My time at Foxdale truly made me enjoy my staycation. Thanks so much.

Have just returned from a 9 day stay on the campsite at the rear of this guest house, owned by the same couple. Martin & Victoria are really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Prices for on electric hook up is £21. Per night for a 3 man tent, 2 adults & 1 child...just about perfect pricing.
Good free showers & wash/tumble dryer facilities . Toilets could do with a refurb mind. Start of the field is slightly sloping but if you are at the bottom of the field, it's flat.

The only downside is there are no marked pitches and in busy times Martin tends to put the tents a bit too close together.

Overall, a stunning location, with 25 min walk to marloes beach, in a wonderful part of the Pembrokeshire coast path.

We stayed here for a couple of nights B&B before visiting Skomer Island. The accommodation was modern and excellent, and if you’re the active outdoor type I would certainly recommend staying here. There was an excellent breakfast choice and all good quality.

The is also a B&B here and near the end of July I was fearing lots of noise and screaming kids, but nothing of the kind. The camp site was fairly quiet and not too many vans or tents. There is a lovely flat and circular coastal walk you can do, and these a good chance of seeing some unusual British birds (Chough, Puffins, Pipits and Gannets). Nearby there’s the Lobster Pot Inn for dinners, but that’s the only eatery for miles!

Room Tip: You just must visit Skomer Island while staying here, preferabely April to July for the Puffins (ove...

We stayed at this guest house in July while walking the coast path. It met our needs as our requirements were pretty basic. However, we stayed at many other guest houses, B and Bs and hotels. At some of these the value for money was stunning with prices from £65 to £90. For £80 per night (plus 2.5% for using a debit card) we felt the foxdale did not give sufficient value. Plus points: proximity to Skomer, Martin's willingness to drop us at the ferry. Negatives: a fairly basic, rushed breakfast and a bathroom sink that did not drain adequately; and a bit pricey for what you got.

Stayed at the Foxdale for one night . Room was terrific and spacious bathroom was separate from the toilet. This is off the main road aeon a small village. Had a good nights sleep no noise from traffic or seagulls. enjoyed a great meal at the Lobster Pot hotel. Our host at Foxdale made us very welcome. There is a small bar there which was very inviting on a warm evening. It is also a short distance from MartinsHaven where you catch the boat to Skomer Island to see the Puffin birds. We thoroughly recommend this guest house

Room Tip: Makes no difference which room you are in you will be guaranteed a quiet nights sleep

Only very average. We stayed in 17 b & b places on our walk along the coastal path and this was probably the most disappointing. Sorry to say but we found it expensive and average. The packed lunch was only two very thin slices of bread and cheese each, it came with chocolate bars, drink and crisps that we told them we didn't want and they charged £6 each! Give anything you don't want to others was the comment. A very good point was that they were able to do some washing for us which was helpful as we had covered some ground by then and we had collected quite a bit to do.
