Dulcepan is located a few blocks from where my wife and I live, and has become one of our favorite lunch spots on the days we don't feel like cooking. It is located about 1/2 a block north of Parque Sabaneta on Cra. 44.
At first glance, one gets the impression that Dulcepan is just a coffee/pastry shop. The first thing that will strike you as you enter the establishment is a display case filled with pastries, cookies and other goodies. But there is so much more depth of what this place has to offer. Dulcepan offers a daily lunch menu consisting of typical "paisa" meat, chicken and fish platters for COP$ 11,000 - 12,000 (about $6.00 - $6.50 US). Fresh fruit juices are included with the meal. The meals are prepared with TLC, delicious and generous. An assortment of beers brewed by the Bogota Beer Company are available at extra cost. Lunch is capped off with a delcious custard and your choice of tinto (coffee) or tea. Dulcepan is one of the best deals in Sabaneta.
From the outside, Dulcepan appears decpetively small. However, once inside, one soon realizes there is enough capacity for 100 - 120 patrons. For this reason, Dulcepan does double duty as a banquet hall to host special events like social and business lunches or birthday parties. The restaurant is comfortable and cozy. Dulcepan draws a large lunch crowd from the surrounding businesses and residences. At the peak lunch hour, it is not unusual to wait a few minutes before a table becomes available. Patrons dine at individual tables covered in linen, and consist of a mixed crowd of both business people, couples and families. The dining rooms are impeccably clean, and the service is courteous and efficient.
I highly recommend Dulcepan, and as I said, it is one of the best deals in town. Dulcepan serves great meals that are very easy on the wallet.
