“Food is excellent and service the best.”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

Second time of visiting the upstairs restaurant. Was really impressed the first time and even more so this week. Very slow Thursday evening in the snow and we were very early but staff both downstairs and upstairs were very welcoming and made every effort to make us comfortable. Portions are huge and only down side here was I was too full to try the tempting dessert menu. My mum had too much on her plate but there was no problem in getting the leftovers to take away in a plastic box. Our waitress, Kim, told us that we could order small portions in future for anyone and not just children. Food is delicious, presentation is as good as any London restaurant who would charge double the prices and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Will definitely be back and only wish there were more places like this real gem.

“Tremendous ale boozer”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

A ridiculous number of beers on tap from both local breweries and the on site microbrewery. Outstanding value, and excellent service.

“Pub and resturant (upstairs)”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Visited Marsden just after new year, popped into the pub for a swift half with our 5 year old. Very friendly, great beer. Decided to eat dinner upstairs - more for convenience and price than anything else so wasn't expecting anything other than standard pub food (the menu looked good and fairly cheap). What a treat we got! The food was excellent - more like what you would get in an "gastro-pub" - without the pretentious poshness and over inflated pricing! Not sure if we just hit them on a good day but the service was so friendly - would recommend. a real gem.

“Unique”

Great beer, food very good. The atmosphere in this place is always good except at weekends when the trains are running and you cannot get near the place for the booze cruisers!

“Real Ale stop”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

We called at the Riverhead Tap in August whilst braving the real ale trail. The beer as expected was excellent, someone suggested we try the restaurant. After the initial shock of the prices, I found the quality of food and service to be what you would expect when paying so much.
If you can afford it, go for it is my advice.
