“A wonderful *Welsh retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

When my French in-laws come over to London to visit us for a long weekend, I usually use the excuse to leave our cramped apartment and head out to the sticks to discover a new slice of 'idyllic' Britain. Ty Bryn was wonderful. Having nervously observed the wet weather pouring over the Wye Valley for two weeks, the rain stopped just in time for our arrival. Our weekend was stunning, just stunning. We loved our long, leisurely walks and country meals in pubs. We would also strongly recommend a visit to Kingstone microbrewery - Edward and the family have an impressive operation just up the road from Ty Bryn. And if you happen to make it on one of their magical pizza and beer nights (held once a month, only) then so much the better! As for the B&B, Nickie was a charming and attentive host. And the view from the patio during breakfast is as much nourishment for the soul as the hearty Welsh breakfast on your plate. Do visit the ruins of Tintern Abbey and lose yourself in its majestic grounds ...
* England is just on the other side of the River Wye.

Stayed here for one night and wished it was longer. As other reviewers have stated, the information provided before the visit, the welcome and attention once there from Nicky, the owner, is excellent. We stayedin the Thistle room which has superb views of the valley. Even on a grey, wet & windy day the views are still breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious and very filling! You really don't need to look any further for somewhere to stay.

After reading reviews on Trip Advisor we felt that Ty Bryn was the romantic getaway that we were after. Nicola tended to our every need and was extremely welcoming over the course of our stay - we personally stayed in the Daffodil room, which has a simply stunning view! The breakfast was superb and the attention to detail throughout the guesthouse was second to none... we will certainly be revisiting the Ty Bryn Bed & Breakfast in the future.

Brilliant B & B. The hostess Nickie is very attentive and welcoming. The thought her and her husband have put into renovating this Victorian house is remarkable. The scenery around it is breathtaking and our weekend was made even better by having a really lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautifully decorated but Thistle and Daffodil room overlook the River Wye valley whic...

We had an outstanding experience staying with and talking to Nickie and Phil. From the moment we arrived Nickie was so welcoming and informative about the area. The house is beautiful and the existence of a visitors lounge is a great bonus, especially as it houses books and photographs to die for. We travel a lot and almost always stay at B&Bs in Britain and abroad and without a doubt the Ty Bryn is already top rate and I am certain will be regarded as having standards that others should aspire to.

Room Tip: Daffodil room has very comfortable seating and a small table ideal for taking in the fantastic view...
