Neat attraction, but this was one of the busiest areas. It was the local Independence day and the locals were setting up for a party.

The view of Dean's Blue Hole from the shore is beautiful with white powder sands and tall cliffs all around you. The view from the cliffs is inspiring with all shades of blue from light turquoise to dark indigo. The view through the window of your mask while snorkeling will rival some of the best snorkeling spots in the Caribbean. Lots of fish from schools of jacks to tiny baitfish. And the view from inside the blue hole looking up is amazing!

A note to SCUBA divers, if you are diving this sight below the rim of the blue hole be advised that it should be considered an advanced dive. It drops to over 600' and it is very easy to descend too deep if your are not very careful, you will find yourself under overhangs, you will want a dive light, and there is no rescue help to get you if you make a mistake. A dive guide that knows the sight would be advised.

One final note is that it was sad to see a lot of trash piled up by the overflowing trash can when we pulled up. Since this appears to be the major attraction on Long Island, you would think that the local government would do more to keep the area clean or at least empty the trash can more often. If you go, it would be best to plan to carry out what ever trash you make and maybe a few extra pieces while you are at it!

A unique sight that is not so easy to access (especially it it rains) due to the bad road. If you wanna see the hole in all its glory you would need to climb the steep hill. A must see if you are in Long Island

Must see when you visit Long Island. Swimming, cliff jumping and a great lunch spot not far away - Max's Conch Bar.

There are high cliffs above the hole and it is exciting climbing up and jumping in the deepest blue hole in the world
