Le Grand Tetras was just the ticket for us, 4 snowboarding lads, (well, 1 skier?) from the UK. Welcomed by a friendly family who looked after us and our every need. The rooms were of a decent size and a recently upgraded bathroom, (lovely hot shower!!). The balcony looked out on the town of Morzine and had great views of le plenney gondola. All you could eat breakfast buffet certainly set you up for a hard days boarding, and 4 course evening meal waiting for you on your return. The food was of exceptional quality, (hats off to the chef!!) and served with a smile. The bus to town and lifts was a 30 second walk away and ran twice an hour. The beds were a little hard for my own personal taste, but other than that, very difficult to find fault with Cyrill, his hotel and his staff. I can't reccomend le Grand Tetras highly enough.
OUTSTANDING

This was my third visit to the hotel and it is still as friendly as ever. As soon as you arrive you are made to feel welcome and it is obvious it is a family business.

The food has really improved (not that it was bad before) and the hotel seems to get better each year.

If you look on a map the location doesn't look that central but is only a ten minute walk to the pleney lift in morzine and if you have a hire shop in town to leave your gear at its a pleasant walk. Our friends used the navattes which stop at the hotel every thirty minutes. The other tip for avoriaz is to catch the bus 200m from the hotel, goes every ten minutes to the new prodains lift. This means that you can be skiing in central avoriaz less than thirty minutes from leaving the hotel.

We will definitely be back at the hotel and not just because of the excellent value for money!

This is the second time we have stayed at Le Grand Tetras and hopefully many more to come! A lovely family run hotel with amazing food! Nothing is too much trouble for them. The price is very good and the room had an amazing view with a balcony. We stayed half board the first week and bed and breakfast the second, quite honestly wished we gone half board for the whole two weeks as the food was second to none and so much cheaper than eating out! Will definitely be returning next year :-)

Bit late putting this review online, but just wanted to share just how good this hotel is. Last stay was March 2013 but have visited many times over the past 10 years and this accommodation never fails to impress.

Breakfast - great selection to start the day (meats, eggs, cereals, pastries etc). Evening meal good quality, restaurant standard. Rooms always clean and well presented and Cyril & Mariona perfect hosts!

Close enough to the town centre (10-15 min walk) and less than 5 minute walk to transfer bus to Avoriaz/Morzine.

Slightly reluctant to intice more visitors to this hotel as its a real 'hidden gem' I intend to visit next year(!), but only fair to repay the hospitality we have always received from the hosts.

The rooms here are newly renovated and have a pleasant aroma of pine.

Cyril, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a detailed demonstration on how to use his new egg cooking machine which he was particularly proud of.

Would definitely stay here again.

We have stopped here several times now and finally I can't help but write my review, as the food and service on offer would put most 5 star hotels to shame. The rooms are clean and tidy with maid service. The location is spot on with fantastic views of Morzine and the surrounding mountains from your room. This will be the first place I check for availability when I return to Morzine.

Just had few days break in the Morzine area if France. Seen this hotel in the reviews and managed to get a few days a a very reasonble price.
We were very well looked after by Cyril, his family and staff. The food was very good and the help and assistance that was given was certainly up there with the best. Any special requests were taken care of and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Our room was a bit on the small side but perfectly adequete for our needs and as clean and as well looked after as the rest of the hotel.
Would recommend this hotel and certainly worth more than 2 stars for the service and food alone.

Room Tip: Anywhere but the attic rooms.
