What a great find this hotel was. Initially thought it may be a bit of a walk to the lifts but it was only a 10 min walk which got your muscles nicely warmed up. The owners are really nice and always made sure everything was ok. There was a good continental breakfast and the 3 course evening meal was so nice, very tasty! The rooms were on the small side but a perfect for a base when you're out all day, they were nice and warm. We would definitely recommend this hotel and when we next go back to Morzine we will book here again.

We stayed here last week for 6 nights and were very pleased with our choice. We chose this hotel because of the great reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by Cyril and his wife Marianne. This hotel represents excellent value for money. It is approx 10-15 min walk to the Pleney or you can catch the free bus located down the hill near the church, bus runs every 10-15 minutes. We stored our skis at Berger ski just next to the Pleney so did not need to worry about distance to hotel, beware Berger ski overcharged us by 42 euros when we paid, we went back next day after checking our bill and they reimbursed us, they had charged for Elite ski hire and not intermediate, they do the bill so quick and don't actually explain what they are charging you, so BEWARE!!! Anyway, back to hotel review :-). We stayed half board, which was a buffet breakfast of baguette & croissants (pre served to your table) and then a buffet of ham, soft cheese, cereals x2, natural yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea and hot choc, this was ample for breakfast, only moan would be a flavoured yogurt would be nice and some sliced cheese/ different meat/ham for variation! Dinner was 3 course, choice of 2 starters, main course and a dessert, the food was always very good quality, water at the table free, probably from the tap!!!, and then coffee at a charge, it's not included in meal so be mindful as they don't explain it's not included. A copy of the dinner menu is on reception to see every morning, however this is not in English :-(( make sure you read it and you like the dinner as there is no choice for main course. The hotel offers FREE WIFI which was invaluable for us as we could stay in permanent contact with our children at no extra cost. All the staff we came across were very friendly and polite. As the hotel is out of town the evening sleep was perfectly quiet. We had ALOT of snow when we were there so ensure you take good walking shoes to enable you to walk down to the town, from the hotel you walk thru hotel garden and down a very steep slope, which I slipped down as my boots simply were too 'girly' as my othe half said!!!! It would be difficult to negotiate after a few drinks. The bedroom was one of 3 remaining left to be refurbished and so was looking very tired, wallpaper, tables etc but for what we needed was ok. Our room was basic, but what we expected for the price we paid, we had a shower over bath and separate WC. The rooms were always warm and loads of hot water. Our room was cleaned every day and towels changed daily if we left them on the floor. Only moan for the bedroom was the pillows, they are lumpy :-(( There is a bar but to be honest this is more a drink before dinner bar and generally closed by 10pm. Cyril the hotelier even adjusted our bill to reflect we didn't have dinner on our night of arrival as we were late arriving, without us even thinking about this fact!!! I simply cannot stress what great value for money this family run hotel is.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room

Just come back from a week at Le Grand Tetras and would recommend it to anyone. It's a great value family owned and run hotel where nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are extremely friendly. The whole place is very clean and the rooms are comfortable. The food is superb with a buffet for breakfast, and then a 3 course dinner. It's about a minute from the old town and ski bus, or about a 15 minute walk to the Pleney and Super Morzine lifts.

We returned to this hotel for the second time and it was every bit as the previous visit in the same week of january. This is a family owned hotel and it makes it a very special place with a warm welcome and excellent service throughout. The rooms are good, very clean and is an excellent base for skiing in moraine and avoriaz. The price is excellent and represents excellent value.

Room Tip: The ones in the annexe have balconies with valley views

We booked Le Grand Tetras as a last min booking. We were not expecting wonderful things as we had not paid a great amount. Cyril and his wife were very welcoming the room was basic but clean. We had a balcony which was great, we sat in the sun and could enjoy the clean air. The breakfast was super a cold buffet and bread and croissants. The evening meals was excellent 3 course meal, brilliant value for money we looked forward to it each night.

My friend used Berger Ski, who were wonderful and very helpful, they re-waxed our skis halfway through he week and I was able to leave my ski's there too.

Room Tip: As for a balcony
