“Really lovely hotel, totally recommend it”
Reviewed April 10, 2014

A Charming, family run chalet / hotel in the centre of Morzine with beautifully quiet gardens and swimming pool. About 5mins from pleney and 10mins walk to supermorzine lift and very close to bars, restaurants etc.
I'd say it's perfect for families and couples as very quiet and relaxing. The owner Eric, made a great effort to ensure our stay was very enjoyable and I can see why this hotel is in the top 100 alpine hotels.

This hotel was excellent. Lovely family run feel to it. warm and comfy rooms. Would definitely stay here again. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Centrally located for Morzine ideal for skiing or short summer break.

Room Tip: Over looking the swimming pool was quieter.

Wonderful hotel in many ways. Perfectly located for the restaurants, shops and ski lifts with the hotel having an abundance of charm.

The staff and owners could not have been more welcoming with great recommendations for local restaurants and making our stay relaxing and hassle free.

Its was our first time in Morzine and will definitely be staying at La Bergerie next year.

Firstly I apologise for such a late trip advisor review! It is no reflection on the service and experience we had in this wonderful hotel.
Me,my boyfriend and his parents stayed here for the week over New Years a few months ago.
The rooms were beautiful with alpine décor without going overboard. Comfy beds, a fold away kitchenette and a balcony with a lovely view of chalet roof tops and mountains.
Great location for both lifts.
The bar and dining area where you have breakfast has relaxed and cosy feel. It has a great balance of a family hotel but with a romance to the place.
Most of all I would like to thank Eric and his team for being such fabulous hosts. Always on hand to deliver a gin and tonic. We had such a fantastic New Years build up with you and the other guests and so many highlights to our trip were based around your lovely hotel.
Stay here... you wont regret it!

Comfortable, convenient, with oodles of character and charm. The communal areas are wonderful - cosy and convivial, spacious and sunny.

I travelled with my husband, 6 month old baby, mother, husband's friend and labrador and we were all comfortably accommodated. We came in a large SUV that didnt fit into the garage so they found another spot for us and a 1920s sports car which was well locked up in the basement garage.

We took one of the larger rooms which was really lovely and light with a balcony with fabulous views so my mother was perfectly happy babysitting there when we went skiing. It had a simple, smallish well stocked kitchen with a couple of hot plates, good sized fridge (so much better than those wretched mini bars you get in bigger hotels!) and a lovely generous dining table with good views. So it was perfect for preparing small meals and all of the baby stuff. The bathrooms were nothing fancy but very functional and convenient. The beds were lovely. The only down side was the bedheads were against the sloping roof so you could bang your head and I worried a little about bumping the baby's head when I picked her up. The soundproofing seemed good.

The breakfasts were an absolute triumph - delicious free-flowing coffee just the way you like, wonderful meats, cheeses, breads and pastries. Gourmet yoghurt, fruit, homemade jams and different varieties of local honey. Pretty much everything on offer was local and artisinal or homemade. Sitting in the lovely sunshine, working, chatting, feeding the baby, looking out at the birds and wildlife in the garden - half of our breakfasts became brunch. But that was ok as when we did don our ski and hit the mountain we didnt stop until the lifts closed.

The baby cot was great and high chair lovely and the staff lined them with a sheepskin and pillow to keep are very little one in place. This place is exceptionally good for children.

The guests were lovely friendly bunch who rubbed along together delightfully - the incredibly kind Russian family who came and helped when our baby was having a particularly fractious morning, the lovely irish couple who stopped by to discuss old cars, the various other swiss, italian and french families - many with grandparents in tow to keep my mother and baby amused during the day.

We thoroughy enjoyed the skiing and my mother, dog and baby were very happy and entertained doing the walks in the valley or on the mountain side.

Only one word of warning - do not put logs on the fire in the hotel lounge as it makes the proprietor v cross indeed! I did it one evening at about 830pm and got thoroughly ticked off and told the proprietor would have to wait up half the night until it went out - which it duly did at 9pm. My bad - am too used to stoking the fire at home and seems a bit pathetic to ask someone to do it for you when the logs are right there. Matters not we like our hosts to have some character and the log incident has caused us a fair bit of amusement. We will certainly return if they will have us!

Room Tip: Get the big rooms with the large balconies and good views on the top floor. They are really worth it...

We spent one week in la bergerie from the 11th to the 18th of january 2014. Our group booked 4 rooms, 2 double rooms and 2 single rooms. The double rooms are very practical for a family of 4 fully equipped it even has a dishwasher. The rooms are nit very big but very well designed for ease of use. Anyway mist rooms in France are not that big.
The owners are really nice and very helpful.
Breakfast not included in the week price. It is a bit expensive but very well presented and appealing to the eye. If I go back to morzine I would definitely stay at La bergerie.

La Bergerie is wonderful. The hotel itself is charming, with sweet, comfortable rooms, and the log fire by the bar is very cosy. But it was our hosts Eric and Caroline, and all their team, that made it magic. They were hugely welcoming, and incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout, going out of their way to help us. They insisted that the hotel was our home for the week, and they made us feel very special. Great location just by the Pleney lift and a lovely pool. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
