“Cool and relax atmosphere”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Excellent hotel atmosphere to cool down for a week-end with almost no noise at night. Top class service from the owners which make your stay very confortable. The rooms are pretty nice and quite big. The gymnasium was not accessible due to heavy snow but it looks good. The hamman is of good size but the jaccuzy can contain up to 8 people with no problem. Hotel location is convenient and only 10 min walk from Morzine city center. A few deers are going around which make the stay even more magic.

We stayed here for a skiing holiday over New Year 2012 and had a lovely time. We had a spacious room with a good balcony and great views of the mountains and the new year fireworks. It was clearly intended as family room (it was just the 2 of us) with twin beds in one room and sliding doors separating this from a double bedroom – though obviously not quite as spacious with 4 people in, it would still have been a good set up for a family too. The hotel is very geared up for French travellers with only a handful of British and other nationalities staying there. We found this a nice change from some other ski hotels we have stayed in which cater mainly to the British market. The hotel did sit all the English speakers close to each other for meals so we met the 3 other British couples that were staying at the same time as us but if you're looking to meet a lot of people to socialise with and don't speak much French this might not be the best option for you. Possibly because we were there over a holiday period there were a lot of families with children staying, and daily children's activity sessions (in French). Personally, we found this created a nice atmosphere but overall it is probably a hotel for families or couples more than those looking for really lively apres-ski.

The food was excellent – evening meals consisted of an extensive cold buffet, with a nightly hot buffet item too, a waiter served main course and separate cheese and dessert buffets. There is also a weekly gala dinner (and an extra one for new year during our stay). The inclusive wine with dinner was a choice of red, white and rose 'on tap' (essentially huge wine boxes!) – they were all good and you were free to help yourself by the glass or carafe. The fact that their main market is French definitely showed in the food and wine! Many of the staff had fairly limited English – enough for ordering food and drinks but our bit of school level French came in handy for more detailed requests. The entertainment at the gala dinners and the 'cocktail games' in the bar were a little reminiscent of a French Butlins, although the receptionist who did a New Year's Eve turn as a fire eater was impressive! The pool and spa facilities were nice and almost always quiet even though the hotel was busy with it being new year.

It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel to the ski lifts and as there are about 3 buses an hour, if you miss one it is generally quicker to walk than wait for the next one. We ended up walking everyday which wasn't a problem as we had free equipment storage near the lifts included in our ski rental – if you are trekking your equipment in and out every day it could be more of an issue.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone we knew that was planning to go to Morzine.

Had a really great week here in March. Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff throughout our stay. Fabulous rooms - really spacious (for France!), with lovely balcony and views down the valley. Excellent food options - cold buffet breakfast with fresh, hot croissants and pain au choc every morning; dinner was consistently very good with great buffet options and wine on tap:) Lovely indoor pool area with 2 smallish pools, one with jets and relaxation area - great at the end of the day. Bar prices were really reasonable. Really well kept and very high standards of cleaning. A 10-15 minute walk to main lifts - or bus stop is literally right outside the door. What more can I say? The best 3 star I've stayed in in France - definitely deserves top marks and will return there.

We found this hotel to be just as described by reviews of the last couple of years- good facilities, generous size rooms with plenty of storage. High standard of cleanliness. Good quality and plenty of choice at mealtimes and as much wine as you wanted at dinner. The majority of guests were Belgians and French who know a good deal when they find one! The hotel staff seemed to be proud of their Gala dinner night with Caberet- free wine including a welcome glass of Kir. Ski lifts to Avoriaz and Morzine ski areas within easy access by regular bus service. We would definitely recommend.

Travelled from Glasgow to Morzine with friends and family to the the hotel Le Cret.
Travelled with Ingams and Jet 2 to Geneva on Saturday 17 March with the only hold up having to wait for over an hour on the Manchester flight. This meant we missed out on an afternoon skiing which was a bit disappointing.
Read mixed reveiws about the hotel but to be honest this one of the best 3* ski hotels i have stayed in my 30 years of skiing.
Rooms were large clean with plenty of hanging and drawer space. Our room had a large southwest facing veranda overlooking the outdoor pool. We had 4 rooms on the first floor which we had requested all were different but of a similar standard.
Breakfast consisted of the normal cold buffet with plenty of bread ham cheesse fruit etc. On the down side the only cooked option were boiled eggs which if you didn't keep your eyes on would be stolen by other guests.
Dinner was a mixture of self-sevice and waiter service with plenty of choice and as much as you could eat along with reasonable wine on tap. Food was well presented and of a good standard. On one evening the hotel had a lovely gala dinner with waiter service set up in the large entertainment room which i thought was a nice touch. There was an entertainment team wich provived varous shows competitions disco etc. which to be honest other than the gala evening we never used.
Drinks in the hotel bar were reasonable and all of the hotel staff were friendly and helfull.
You can walk to the Pleney lift station but it is a 15 minute hike however the ski bus stops outside the front door about every 15 minutes.
The hotel as 2 small indoor pools with various water jets (good for relaxing the old muscles) and a large juczzi which were on certain occasions could be quite busy.
If i was to return to Morzine i would definitly stay at this hotel.

Nice hotel, comfortable and clean, lovely food, excellent bar, lots of facilities, including disco/cabaret/festivities hall and swimming pool, but by far the biggest asset are the extremely friendly and helpful members of staff! We would gladly come back for another skiing holiday and stay at the "Le Cret".

At this very moment we're staying in this hotel. It 's wonderful ! The rooms are large, the beds are good, the bathroom is modern!!
The restaurant needs a special mention: i believe will put some kilos on this week. Every evening there's a theme: Savoyard, Gala, Italian, fondue, ... Lots of super food en wine non stop!

We love this hotel and before we leave on saterday we'll book for next year.
