We decided to treat our team to a few days skiing as a reward for a tough but successful year. The hotel was quite centrally located, clean with friendly staff. The rooms were a good size and well equipped. The only issue was that the crisps and goodies in the room were not complementary, which some of the team had thinking as they were 'free' as they were not in the mini bar! Small point on a very good trip!

Having visited a few skiing hotels over the past couple of years, this is a very good example of what can be done. The restaurant is very good using local produce and has an interesting wine list; the lounge and bar area is comfortable and welcoming; and there is also a swimming pool with basic spa facilities. The most notable aspect of the hotel are the staff who are charming and obliging without being fawning. This is a style of service that helps the place feel relaxed and welcoming and it was noticeable that the families that were present (it was the end of French half term) seemed to be having a very good time. Rooms were functional rather than luxurious, but were absolutely fine for a ski holiday - shower fittings were somewhat eccentric but this was a minor irritation. All in all a good hotel that would comfortably accommodate all types of visitor, I would have no hesitation in returning with my family. For those who were wondering, a dahu is a goat-like animal with legs of differing lengths, ideal for standing on the side of a mountain. There are some interesting techniques for catching these creatures, worth a quick web search if you have time on your hands.

Me and my friend staid in this hotel for 4 nights in February 2014. I must say, to be a 4 star hotel, I was very disappointed with this experience, and I have staid in many nicer places in the French Alps that have been half the price and half the number of stars. The things that annoyed me the most were:
* The single beds are absolutely tiny and keep moving around because of the stupid wheels
* The shower head seems really old and kept twisting and turning and spraying the whole bathroom
* The decorations and curtains in the room felt old and ugly
* The breakfast was way overpriced (€18) and the staff did not even serve coffee/tea at the table, which is normal even for a buffet breakfast. Also, we weren't informed that the breakfast was not included in the package deal we had booked.
* The only time we wanted to use the spa, we found it full of external guests who had booked up the whole place.

I would not recommend this place to anyone else.

Just returned from ski trip. Returning to hotel lounge with open fires and candles very atmospheric. Clean, nice rooms, and on the lower side of 4 star, but still very nice.

We found all staff to be extremely polite and helpful - reception, bar, and drivers alike.

My one gripe is the "shuttle bus" which in fact doesn't shuttle but works to an approximate timetable with rather unclear pick up points. After a long day skiing we often had to wait 30-40 mins for the bus back up the hill to the hotel. If the hotel could just operate this bus as proper shuttle it would have made all the difference.

Stayed here for a couple of days for the first time with my daughter. It was also our first ski trip to Morzine.

Would highly recommend a stay at Le Dahu. The rooms, whilst not large, we're comfortable and decorated in traditional Alpine style. Beds we're comfy too. Free wifi in the rooms and in the bar and reception area. Only slight niggle with the rooms was that the only TV channels were French - nothing in any other language. A bit odd.

Restaurant in the evening was excellent although maybe a bit on the fussy side. Breakfast buffet was good - not a big range but everything there was very good quality.

The bar area is very welcoming, especially in the evenings. Two open log fires which was nice.

You will quickly pick up that this is a family run hotel - for good reasons. A personal touch can be felt through the hotel - from the staff, general care and attention, and to the family photos dotted around ( going back to 1950s). It has been in the family a long time.

From a practical perspective, the hotel is a 5 min walk into the centre of Morzine (where there is a wealth of restaurants/bars/ ski hire). It is also a 5 min walk to the main lift up to the pistes (where the main ski hire shop is located). All very convenient.

My only other comparison is a similar family-run hotel, same star rating in Switzerland. Le Dahu is much better - better value, better food, better rooms, better hospitality. Stay here if you can.

We spent a wonderful stay for a week in this Oh So Nice hotel
A very nice room with an amazing Morzine view. A wooden decoration. Very quiet. A cosy lounge. Beautiful Tapas for a casual diner. We spent a nice skiing day with a Nice guide, and had a lunch "on the slope".
The best massage ever.
Just fantastic

The Hotel Dahu is a hotel that easily lives up to the four stars that adorn the sign!

We have just returned after taking a group of CEO's from the UK's pub, bar and restaurant sector and if this, very tough(!), audience can be unanimous in their praise for all elements of the Hotel then you know it must be good.

And it is...

The location of Hotel Dahu is a five to six minute walk to the Super Morzine lift and so slightly in the quieter part of town but the Hotel has minibuses to drop you / collect you at Pleney, Super Morzine or Prodain Express.

The facilities are excellent, a great bar, really comfortable lounge with open fire, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool and pool table.

The food is first class - in both taste and presentation. The wine list is long and varied - with wine to suit all budgets and tastes.

The bedrooms are great and after skiing all day - then eating and drinking to the early hours - sleep came very easily!

Yet what makes the Dahu THE Hotel to go to in Morzine is the staff and management. They genuinely understand the difference between hospitality and service. Nothing is too much trouble - if it can be done it will be!

Run by Benoit and Anne with Sylves, Claudia and Liliana plus many others supporting them - the warmth of the welcome is wonderful to witness and be part of.

I look forward to returning to Morzine and I am not even going to bother looking for anywhere else to stay - there is no point as I will spend the time comparing it to the Dahu and I just can't see any Hotel being a touch to this one!
