“Charming and lovely place, great hospitality and yummy dinner”
Reviewed September 13, 2011

We stayed here for 2 nights in Sept 2011 and will highly recommend this place to anybody for accomodation and/or the lovely dinner. We stayed in the old kitchen room and it was very well appointed and it had the most comfortable bed, high quality toiletries, a nice bath tub with a consistent supply of hot water. Dorrien, James and all are very nice and very hospitable people who took really great care of us. The little town nearby is also worth a visit and has lots of Food and Beverage options. we will love to re visit this place and stay at the farmhouse again in the future.

Room Tip: The old kitchen room is more spacious and suitable for families, however you cant get the wifi signa...

Stayed with Dorrien, Di and James at the Farmhouse for a couple of nights at the end of May ... a break from our recent jobs in Africa and exactly what we were looking for - peace, tranquility, gorgeous food, stunning scenery and as much fresh air as you could breathe! Booked the chalet in the garden. Like all the accommodations, absolutely gorgeous, cosy, comfortable and warm ... Nothing was too much hassle for anyone: Dorrien and James were even waiting for us with drinks and good conversation despite our arrival from Paris after midnight. Would love to go back whether in ski season or summer ... will go back!

We stayed here for two nights at the end of May, but really wished we'd had longer. An amazing house, rooms, food, atmosphere..... and fantastic hosts. As hoteliers ourselves(of sorts!), we have become pretty fussy when choosing a place to stay while on holiday. Mas de la Coutettaz is all of those things we look for, and all of those things I wish we were! Thanks guys for a fab stay. (we'll be back!)

We stayed at the farmhouse for two nights in the "Cottage 2" room, the farmhouse is everything the website made it out to be. It's an amazing house, the staff are very friendly (and are all English). The rooms were great and they have L'occitane toiletries, it's great to have a hot bath after a long day of exploring - and they give you bathrobes to wear!. It's quiet cold there (we visited in early Autumn) but there is a heater in the room is more than adequate. It was so peaceful there I had the best sleep! The only slightly weird thing is the rooms were not made up on the second day, but it's no big deal.

We missed out on having the dinner (you have to tell them ahead of time) but had the breakfast on both days. The food is simple; cereal, fruit, yogurt, croissants, bread, juice, tea/coffee but is very very good.

At night they have a fire going in the bar and there's also a lounge room with random books etc, there's also a cute little cat that lives there!

I highly recommend this place, I am glad we stayed in the cottage instead of the main house as it was much more private. The bedrooms in the main house are scattered throughout the house so it's like you're staying at someone's house (you can peek into the rooms as you walk past if the door is not closed properly). I am pretty sure all rooms have their own bathroom though.

We were in Morzine out of season so most of the restaurants and shops were closed however, Morzine is close to lots of exciting places and a good base to explore the alps from. The rooms are half price during low season too!

We only stayed for one night after a long drive down from Calais. What a lovely old house - full of character and atmosphere.
Our evening meal lived up to expectation, the dining room was beautiful, the food was excellent and so was the company. It's so much nicer to sit around a large dining table to have your evening meal - it always encourages good conversation - sometimes interesting, sometimes not, but always enjoyable. Breakfast was also very good - lots of choice and the service was great.
Our room was lovely, we weren't expecting modern but everything was spot-on - clean, comfortable and cosy.
The following morning we set off to stay in a chalet at the other end of town wishing we could have stayed in the Farmhouse for the week instead. I'm sure we'll return one day.

We stayed here recently and had the most wonderful time. The rooms are sensational, the staff are very friendly and the food was out of this world!

Early booking is recommended as this beautiful old Farmhouse is very popular.

We stayed at the extremely comfortable Atelier bedroom of the Mas de Couttetaz and we highly recommend it. The owner was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome and at home. The location is very covenient and has great views, very relaxing; it all made you want to stay there again and again and again... Very good value for money too!
