“Lovely chalet and great hosts”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

This chalet is right in the middle of Morzine, with lovely views on either side up the mountains. Lots to do in the summer and all on the doorstep, but despite all the fab activities, the highlight (among many highlights of the holiday) was the cosy, tastefully furnished and well laid out chalet with Claire's fab cooking (ably assisted by Pete and Lucy) and the whole evening dining experience. We were travelling with our 3 teenagers and the communal table and creative, delicious food was enjoyed by all. We would definitely love to return. Also, really valued Pete's help on sorting our activities, and simple things like being able to use the washing machine, and being able to create a "picnic" lunch at lunchtime on the balcony.

The entrance to Chalet Bon Bon is an unassuming door on a busy (?) street in the centre of Morzine, but once you go in, take off your shoes and go upstairs you enter a different world.

We were there in July and the temperatures were soaring, but the chalet was cool, spotlessly clean and with an amazingly relaxed ambience. Our room, on the second floor, was airy, and the balcony had a view up the slopes, over part of the town and towards the slighly more distant higher mountains.

In the evening, Claire's cooking was at least equal to the quality of a good restaurant - I certainly didn't eat better whilst I was there - and Pete's sommelier skills ensured that the wines ideally complemented the food.

Dining was at a communal long table, where Claire and Pete joined the guests for dinner, providing warmth and amiable conversation keeping everyone relaxed, whilst the delightfully charming Lucy provided extra service and back-up, completing a formidable team.

To sum up - quality, professionalism and absolute value for money.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a hand held shower. Ask for a fixed one, although the room might not have as good a...

We stayed at Chalet Bonbon for 4 nights in July for a short summer break. We love the mountians and wanted an activity holiday in beautiful surroundings. We found it in Morzine and staying at Chalet Bobbon was a real treat. Pete and Claire who run the Chalet are great hosts and make you feel so relaxed and at home. As a couple this was the first time we had stayed in a Chalet so were not sure what to expect, we lovced every minute. As the chalet only has 6 rooms its means that it is perfect for couples or families and even individual guests as you dont feel left out which you may do in a larger chalet. Claire's cooking is amazing and was a highlight of the holiday, it was great to come home after a busy day in the mountians to the smell of home cooked food, this was 5 star restaurant standards. The rooms are simple alpine decor but as the chalet has just been refurbished it is so light and to a very high standard. We cant wait to go back, this time maybe for a winter holiday. I would highly reccommend Chalet Bonbon, great location, great food and great hosts - the perfect holiday.

Room Tip: Room 3 and 6 have two floors in the room and very spacious. We were in room 2 which was the smalles...

Having had a bad experience at the sister chalet, 'The Flo' we were very quickly moved to the 'Chalet Bonbon'. The difference was as if night and day. Our hosts Pete and Claire were the epitome of professional with a warm welcome and a lovely atmosphere. To me, this is how a catered chalet should be, you should feel that you're staying with friends and that's exactly how we were treated. Nothing was too much trouble and as a group of cyclists we presented probably more of a challenge than most guests! Claire's food was truly gorgeous and as good if not better than any of Morzine's best restaurants and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. As mentioned, we had had a disappointing time at the Chalet Flo and I believe any shortcomings have been rectified, but the way we were looked after by SkiMorzine and the Bonbon's hosts ensured our holiday was made special again and there is no doubt we will be returning next year. A massive well done and an even bigger thank you for fantastic customer service.

The BonBon is in a fantastic location right in the centre of Morzine and very close to the Pleney ski run. It's also very handy for buses to Avoriaz, shops and bars (I especially liked Le Coup de Coeur a few doors from Bon Bon and great for Apres-Ski). I have stayed at BonBon twice now and could not fault anything - the chalet itself has recently been refurbished (late 2011) to a very high standard. Rooms are very cosy. Pete and Claire are excellent hosts and very knowledgeable about the area and places to ski. Claire (aided by Pete and Lucy!) is a great cook and the food alone is reason to return. I also plan to return next year :-)

First stayed here for a week this March, then came back for a 4 day weekend stay . Can't really fault it! Staff are extremely helpful and are willing to accommodate your needs, food is great and beautifully furnished in a modern but traditional alpine style. Great views of the Pleney from the balcony.
Only down side - if you can call it one - is the smell of freshly baked croissants in the morning!! Ha! Ha!

I have stayed twice with Pete and Claire and they are great hosts. First class food and hospitality. Good company - on and off the piste. The newly refurbished chalet is everything it should be and in the perfect location. I plan to return next year.
