More Mountain - La Cabine

Our usual holiday mantra is never visit the same location twice....until now! Following a fantastic experience at La Cabine last year we made the return trip and, to be honest, we were not sure that we could top our last visit. We needn't have worried! We travelled with 3 families, including 7 children aged 3-11 and were all thrilled that Laura and Sam,our hosts from last year were back. As well as pre-empting our every whim with a relaxed and 'nothing's too much trouble' attitude we really enjoyed their company. Owners Sam and Jon also took the time to drop in to see us which was much appreciated. We were lucky enough to have the best snow of the season so far and made the most of our time on the slopes - BASS Ski School was fantastic again for the children. Back at the chalet we enjoyed Laura's fantastic cooking, toffee vodka and of course chilling in the hot tub. We couldn't fault the chalet or the More Mountain team - especially Laura and Sam. Huge thanks!

Our stay at La Cabine was fantastic.Definately the best Catered Chalet experience we have had.
More Mountain as a whole were very accomodating & organised from initial enquiries to tranfers etc.
Laura & Sam were amazing from first meeting them at the Chalet they could not have been more helpful & informative.
The Chalet was so clean & homely it was a real home from home & so relaxing. Breakfast was organised for a time to suit daily & we were taken to the lifts as appropriate each day & collected in town. If plans needed to be changed then Sam was very flexible whenever possible.
The food was great a good variation lots of it & the childrens High Tea was always wholesome
and tasty.
It was so relaxing having our meal "in Peace" without the children which we have not done before. The children loved the food & have asked if we can go back to La Cabine next time.
Just one point that the Chalet is more than walking distance from town & the buses only run hourly. We did get caught out on Sam & Lauras day off & ended up paying 20euros for a taxi back so be aware to catch the bus on time!
The games room for the children was great especially being downstairs they felt as though they had there own space too. Sam & Laura were brilliant with the children.
We would have no hesitation in recommending More Mountain & La Cabine to anyone.

We stayed here for a week in January, and after never being on a ski holiday before- I think I have been spoilt! From arriving in the chalet Laura and Sam made us feel totally welcome and at home. The chalet was beautiful and clean, and they catered to our every need, and appeared totally happy and relaxed in doing so. The food was amazing (above the quality of most top notch restaurants) and Laura's baking was especially yummy, especially after a hard days boarding. They helped me sort out lessons and provided moral support (which as a beginner boarder was very encouraging). The weather updates they gave were very useful and they made the whole holiday an enjoyable, relaxed, but well organized experience. Thanks so much guys! I also felt the fact that Sam and John visited too was a great touch

From enquiring to booking, through to the end of the holiday the correspondance and staff were excellent. The transfer from airport to chalet was efficient by the company they use. Chalet had good facilities and lovely and clean. From previous experiences a holiday is only as good as the hosts and the company that run it. We agreed on a breakfast time, given the daily weather forecast and were taken down to the lifts each morning at a time we agreed on and were collected from the town after a days ski-ing,if we required or we took the bus back. Lovely meals, all plentiful, tasty ( very healthy, but with a bit of indulgance!) and advised of beforehand. Any intolerances or alternatives were catered for, nothing was too much trouble (if it was, Sam & Laura didn't show it, all dishes were brought out as if by magic with no fuss!!). we were 2 families with 3 children between us age ranges from 8-10 years and it was fun! they loved the downstairs lounge and often used the Wii or PS2, they were entertained so we were relaxed. We arranged a ski guide day and it was terrible weather and the chalet hosts hosts knowledge of where best to go due to the conditions and how to get there was invaluble and paid off. My only negative (& my husband says it's me being picky and I shouldn't write it as it didn't affect him, but I like to be honest!) so, just for the record, when the bread delivery came each morning between (approx) 6.25 -6.45, it woke me up as I'm a bit of a light sleeper - 6.45 onwards would be so much more acceptable as a suggestion . And so I'd give everything 99.9% and would definately recommend staying with More Mountain at La Cabine. To sum up - professional, friendly, helpful and clean. I think if you had a real issue, they'd rectify it if at all possible as they have the right attitude.

Room Tip: We were 4 adults and 3 children, we took the top floor (which sleeps 8 with 2 ensuite rooms with sho...

We recently stayed in La Cabine as part of a larger group and enjoyed every minute. We were immediately made to feel at home thanks to the attention and care of our hosts (Sam and Laura). Our every need was catered for and we had to worry about nothing - our hired equipment was delivered to our door and our ski passes given to us on our first morning. They were very knowledgeable about the ski area and accompanied some of our group, as guides, on a days skiing. They were able to advise which areas to visit for both myself, a near-beginner, and for the other more experienced skiers in our group. They also supplied us with excellent radios so that we were able to keep in touch with each other whilst out skiing. The skiing itself was excellent with a wide range of slopes to suit everyones needs.
The highlight of the holiday was without a doubt Laura's cooking - it was absolutely excellent and without fault. There was a freshly baked cake waiting for us on our return from the slopes, followed by an outstanding 3 course meal (plus cheese board) with plenty of time for hot-tub and cocktails in between!
The holiday was a complete success and we cant wait to return!

Recently stayed in La Cabine hosted by the very lovely Sam and Laura. Accommodation is first class and we couldn't have been looked after any better.Sam and Laura went above and beyond on a daily basis and ensured that every member of our 10 strong group was looked after personally- from food requirements, lifts to and from town, ski guiding and sorting out lessons and massages . Laura's food was really outstanding and her passion for food and entertaining is obvious- we were extremely well fed and catered for. We had a superb holiday and a large part of that was the superb accommodation and hosting. Very much recommend staying at La Cabine- the passion and enthusiasm that is put in to ensuring you have a perfect holiday is endless.

Room Tip: All are fantastic- genuinely doesnt matter.

My wife and I recently stayed in La Cabine for a week as part of a group of ten - ages ranging from me in my mid 20s to a few slightly older. I was a bit worried about the chalet being slightly out of town, but this is really no issues whatsoever. Sam gladly dropped us off in the mornings and picked us up at the end of the day after a long/ hard day of skiing and the optional 'demi' of old lager at Bar Robinsons.
As for the chalet - complete luxury with hot tub. Our highlight, was the food prepared by Laura. 3 course meals (on all days apart from their one day off) were always of the highest standard that would not look out of place in an expensive eatery in Edinburgh. With Sam alongside her, they worked extremely hard and were always professional in their attitude. They clearly enjoy and care about what they do.
As for Morzine, a vast range of skiing for different standards with numerous bars/ restaurants in town.
An excellent holiday- highly recommended.
