YoYou will see that I do very few reviews. I am either too lazy or not impressed.
This review I hope will hold more weight given the later.
The team at the chalet are young, vibrant hardworking and great fun to be with. The bedrooms in the chalet are basic very clean and comfortable. Noise does travel from one floor to the next due the design and hard surfaces of the chalet.

I am a relatively light sleeper, I soon got used to this aided by wine at dinner and the odd jar at the bar as well as a full day skiing.

Hospitality and service are what I look for when I travel, this is in abundance at Montana. Examples are:
1/ Ski hire provided, allows you change boots skis should you have an issue
2/ Bus stop for the slopes is outside the chalet
3/ In the unlikely event the bar did not stock the particular tipple you like, Zeb would seek it out for you.
4/ Should you want a lazy day in the chalet, there are games, pool table, DVD galore, books and much more to entertain you.

There are many more examples of the fantastic service provided here. I am not going to say too much in case there is a mad rush for next year.

Thanks again to Zeb and the crew. Hope to see you all next year plus one.

This is a great place. Zeb and his family own and run Montana and they treat you as guests in their home. Being sociable is a great asset here because chances are at the end of a hard day on the slopes you'll be breaking bread and supping at the (honesty) bar with strangers, but there is great camraderie, maybe a shared knowledge that everyone is in on a secret worth knowing - that Montana is friendly, relaxed, clued-up and as flexible as it could possibly be. Zeb managed to turn our party of 5 around ski ready onto the 5 min bus ride to the slopes within 30 mins of arriving, thereby ensuring us a proper half day skiing on day 1. He and the great staff know all of the nooks and crannies of the resort and happy to make suggestions as to where to go/what to do. He helped sort out our airport transfers and he was more than happy to turn over the music/games/tv to whatever anyone wanted to do.

It's not luxurious and has a hostel feel but it is well organised, fun, and great value for money. There is no menu but the food is great with afternoon tea and cake also available for those early back off the pistes. For those travelling in groups to my mind it's a no-brainer. If i was taking the family skiing maybe i would opt for something else. The bus to the slopes leaves from the end of the drive. Morzine centre is a 20 minute walk or short taxi ride away.

Would definately recommend this place.

This was my second visit and whilst last year was excellent, this year got even better.

The staff are bloody marvellous and the food cooked by Amie and Co was wonderful as usual.

As for Zeb, bit of a shark with the dice, he beat me on numerous occasions, but more importantly is was great that the host really gets involved with the guests and he has a wealth of experience whether it be supplying and advising on the correct ski equipment to recommending the best places to ski.

You really do feel at home at Chalet Montana and they can't do enough for you.

With a wonderful new addition and old sulky Chief I can only recommend that you must stay at this place. Just like home.

Looking forward to next year Darren x

This was my 7th or 8th visit to Chalet Montana and this time I took a party of 16 people with me. I was confident that they would love it as much as I do. The Chalet is not as luxurious as some chalets in the region and that is reflected in the price. If you want a friendly, fun and easy going stay then this is for you. Zeb & Amie together with the expanding family, and all the staff are warm, friendly and very helpfull (they have stopped relaxing on a wednesday now and dont have a day off at all for the entire season due to old misery guts vicky557 from Basingstoke).
The antique floor tiles add character to the place and the beds are big enough for me at 5' 10". There are two or three showers and toilets on each floor. Vicky557 would have found these eventually had she stayed long enough.
The chalet has its own games room, sky tv, Xbox (whatever that is) boot room, pool table, dart board, honesty bar and two seperate lounges where you can relax in comfy leather sofas infront of the log burning stove.
We all had a brilliant time and WILL be back next year.
If you want to visit Morzine it is a 25/30 min walk and the free bus stops running quite early, about 5.30pm.
There is easy access to the ski area via a free bus. The bus stop has moved to the end of the drive. Vicky557 from Basingstoke didnt like the 100yrd walk so she had it moved closer, only joking Vicky557 from Basingstoke.
If you want 5* luxury accommodation this is not the place for you. If you want a clean, warm, friendly, relaxing chalet with good food and like minded people this is for you. Look at the website. The photos show it as it is.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have access to a balcony

We stayed here as we were part of a group, and it was described as a Hostel style Chalet. When we arrived we I was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by Zeb, Amie and beautiful baby Devon, along with the much discussed cakes.

The rooms are basic but confortable. We had a lovely walk in style wardrobe. As well as a free standing one, missed havind a bedside lamp though, but suppose you cant have everything.

Yes the towels are small, and yes the whole place is titled, and yes it can be loud due to this, but the positives outway any negatives. Look at the prices based on two sharing.
There is on site ski rental, which has the latest seasons skiis and boards. I personally had some Head Magum which were the best carving skis ive ever used. Again excellent prices, comparable with any ski shop, but without the hassle.

The place could be warmer if I had to be hyper critical, as seems the lovely log burner doesnt warm the whole chalet

Evening meal is served at 7.30pm where wine is served until the evening meal is finished, which can be a couple of hours, then the bar is looked after by staff and guests alike until...whenever.....

The ski shuttle bus stops literary at the end of the drive, so you cant get better than that. Its a 8min transfer to Argent bubble lift to the slopes.

If you want luxury, on site spas, massage services then look at another Chalet charging £2k each for a week, if you want a cost effective, fun, chilled out, Chalet where you get to know other skiers then Book the Montana.

See you next Year Zeb

Thank you Zeb and Amie and the rest of the staff for a wonderful Xmas 2013. We had a fantastic time and were made to feel very welcome! You and your entire staff clearly work very hard to keep things running and to keep all your guests happy. Chapeau!

Admittedly trying to have a relaxed skiing holiday with a 2 year old and 6 month old was never going to happen, but you really, REALLY pulled out all the stops to make it as easy as possible for us, thank you.

All in all, I thoroughly recommend this chalet for the value for money and the general atmosphere. It's no frills, but it's just as good as anyone would have it at home.

Room Tip: Zeb kindly cornered an entire section of the chalet with 4 rooms for the entire family (9 of us) on...

I can't recommend chalet Montana high enough. Completely chilled out, great food, great fun, clean rooms, amazing showers. Best bar I have ever seen in a chalet. Zeb and team are very accommodating and you just make yourself at home.
