We stayed at the Morzine Barn week commencung 23rd February 2013.The chalet is in a great location for the lifts the train and the centre of Morzine. The accomodation is homely and comfortable and as the previous reveiwer said very welcoming. Rob and Lottie looked after us beautifully and John treated us to wonderful meals. The Menus and wines were nicely balanced and quite varied. This is a really great chalet and I happily recomend it.

A group of us recently stayed at The Barn. This was a return trip there for most of us. As per our previous visit, the accomodation, the welcome we received and the food were exceptional!

Antonia, Jon, Lottie and Rob made us feel very welcome and were great hosts. Jon's menu was delicious, with all meals being beautifully presented, very filling and varied. The team are so generous with wine and pre-dinner drinks, we barely strayed out of the chalet!

The snow and skiing was exceptional this year so all in all an excellent choice all round.

Thankyou all.

Room Tip: Stay early in the season to guarantee good skiing conditions

We have just come back from a fantastic week at La Ferme.
Booking is efficient and easy, with very good email communication from Antonia. There is a comprehensive guest page for entering in all the details and booking ancillaries such as ski tuition and lift passes, as well as making payments.
The chalet is comfortable and well appointed. Some of the bedrooms are not huge, but they never are, in an old building. Beds are comfortable, if slightly on the firm side, which is probably better than too spongy. Sheets are definitely NOT from Primark ! (ref earlier review...)
The bathrooms are modern and well fitted out. Large soft towels, good toiletries, fluffy bathrobe (if you're into that sort of thing) and even flip-flops to get out to the hot tub across the snow.
The central living area is bigger than it seems on the photographs, and easily big enough to enable all of us to sit together and have a drink.
Location is excellent for the Super Morzine lift, but not as good for the Les Gets/Pleney lift. But then again if you are in accommodation nearer the Pleney lift you have a fair walk to the Super Morzine. We preferrred skiing on the Super Morzine side. If the lift distance is an issue, it is an issue with the resort, not with this chalet.
There is an easy solution for those who dont want to walk, and that is to wait for the little shuttle train which runs quite frequently across the resort.
John and Antonia are not the chalet hosts, but they are very involved in the running of the chalet. John prepares and cooks all the main courses for both La Ferme and L'ecurie, and Antonia's hand is very much on the tiller for the whole operation.
The food is top notch - dinner is three courses of really excellent quality. A really nice touch is that the inclusive wines are different every evening, and selected to go with the menu. The booze policy is as generous as the food - you are never denied another bottle being opened, during the meal. There is a very reasonably priced "honesty bar" in the chalet, providing tonic , soft drinks and beers etc, at prices which did not make you feel you were being ripped off.
Chris and Anna hosted us in La Ferme, and did so with real charm and efficiency, knowing instinctively when to engage with us and when to leave us have our time. Although we have stayed in many catered chalets, we have not yet experienced a better chalet hosting couple.
Breakfast was always prepared on time, and plentiful and tasty. The apres-ski cake was always well made and delicious.
This is not the chalet for you if you are on a diet - the food is so good and served in generous portions.. All you have to do is kid yourself that you are burning it all off on the slopes, though !
"Ski Guiding" is currently controversial in France, but Rob accompanied us on two days and he was most informative and helpful, even putting up with family indecisions as to who was going to ski with who etc.. He knew the resort backwards, and was cleverly able to get us to arranged meeting points on time.
We had a fantastic week at The Barn, and would highly recommend it !

We booked the whole chalet l'ecurie to celebrate a number of '0' birthdays. From the first contact Antonia was helpful and informative answering all our queries. The online guest payment system worked very well. The chalet transfers were easy despite snow in both the UK and Geneva. Afternoon tea was waiting for us on arrival as well as a helping hand with the luggage.

The rooms are well appointed although some are more compact than others. They are all en suite and offer everything you need including toiletries and a hair dryer. The jacuzzi and sauna were well used after a day on the slopes.

The open fire was lit most nights adding to the atmosphere whilst having pre dinner drinks and canapés. Jon, Rob and Charlotte did us proud producing a varied, well presented and tasty menu accompanied with suitable wine. Dietary needs were all accommodated. The honesty bar worked well with a good selection of drinks on offer. We have to mention the cakes particularly the birthday cakes which were lovely.

Additional services such as the mobile ski hire was brilliant, no need to trudge to the ski hire shop or return equipment at the end of the stay. Ski passes were waiting for us when we arrived. Rob's ski guiding was great, considerate and enjoyable.

Thank you to The Barn. We had a fantastic week in a comfortable, homely, well located chalet with lovely food and wine.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are compact. One room has a sloping ceiling so best to ask in advance so you know...

We decided to get a group skiing trip together for the first time this year, with everyone knowing someone but basically two groups of people who hadn't all met and we were all of varying levels of skier, from experienced boarders to those who had never skied and we also had to ensure that it would be suitable for 3 children (8, 5 and 2), the so ticking every box was always going to be difficult.

However from the first email to Antonia until we returned home we found the whole experience to be effortless and painless! Payment was very easy and it suited everyone to pay for their own holiday - no one had to chase around for money, the ski passes were delivered to the chalet, the transfers were smooth and the chalet was amazing value. Our ski guiding with Rob on the Sunday was brilliant, it gave us an idea of the area and any other advice we needed we only had to ask. Both Rob and Lottie were constantly patient and helpful, nothing was a problem and our 2 year old was catered for brilliantly, the meals were child friendly but healthy.

For the adults John's cooking was amazing and we enjoyed a varied and amazing menu, just glad we were skiing hard everyday....

The rooms were kept clean, very warm and the one we were in had low ceilings which caused the odd bumped head but other than that very comfortable.

The Jacuzzi and the sauna were a welcome sight at the end of a long day and the boot drier was very much appreciated!

All in all I would not hesitate to recommend The Barn for a brilliant holiday, if you want a great location, service and amazing skiing then do not hesitate to go there.

We have recently returned from weeks trip to L'ecurie, Morzine.

This was our first trip skiing with our 2 children (8 & 5) so choosing the right accomodation was essential for a successful trip for all of us.

We had the family room which included a mezzanine floor for the children; the stairs are steep to the upstairs beds, but our children were absolutely fine with no mishaps. They particularly enjoyed the roof velux providing them with a panoramic view of the Town and slopes.

The location was a short walk for the ski train to the bottom of the slopes at Pleney and Morzine itself is charming.

Rob and Lottie looked after us all very well, and the Children were well catered for. Jon's cooking for the "grown ups" is excellent with a great variety over the course of our week. There are no complaints regarding the honesty bar or the wine selected for dinner.

The mobile ski hire was excellent; having them come to us made it painless. Having the Hot Tub and Sauna was an added bonus and knowing that our equipment would be warm and dry
in the drying cupboard was a relief.

Having WiFi, an inhouse iPad and a selection of DVD's also meant that we had plenty of options for the Children if we needed them.

We would recommend this chalet as a stress free way of taking your family skiing.

Room Tip: We had the family room which catered well for a family of 4, with a double on the bottom and 2 singl...
