Pleased with overall service and hotel facilities. The room was very clean and omfortable, and the breakfast ample and delicious. Location is very convenient, with availability of lovely sea views. The hotel reception is especially helpful and efficient. I most warmly recommend it and hope to revisit and stay again.

The hotel is fine for a weekend with terrific sea views and the town centre is only a few yards away.

Breakfast was continental..but perfectly okay with a choice of cereals, yoghart, cheeses bolied eggs and cold meats bread etc.

There is plenty of street parking at the front of the hotel.

Lots of lovely restaurants opposite a busy working harbour which does not impose on your meal or if just sitting outside in the winter sun drinking coffee or a beer.

For several years, we have used the Aguado and it's sister hotel (Hotel Europe) which is located further along the boulevard and will continue to use both hotels in the future.

The Sussex Strollers

The staff of both hotels are very friendly and very helpful.

This hotel is stuck in a 1980 time warp. We stayed for one night on 18th July. Our room on the first floor smelt very smoky and was decorated in mustard yellow and dark blue. The inside doors of the room have been replaced by glass doors for some strange reason, including the bathroom door!! The paint round the door frame rather battered. The shower was in the bath with no shower screen or shower curtain. The bidet was on wheels pushed under the wash hand basin, and in the way. The loo had such a violent flush that it came out of the bowl! The bed was fine.

Breakfast was good but at 10 euros it should be. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Although this has a three star rating the carpets in the hall are dirty and the whole place has a rather tired look, very much in need of refurbishment.

I would not stay there again.

We had a Friday night here (11/7) after popping over from Newhaven for a quick "something different to do" trip. We booked a few weeks in advance and as only one night didn't bother paying extra for a seaview. However, our "city view" room on the third floor (310) looked straight along the street and out to part of the quay so we took that as a bit of a bonus. This is a typical French (older style) hotel (ie. nothing like a Camponile or Ibis) and so is rather like stepping back in time to the 70s - eg. hessian wallpaper, dark blue tiling in the bathroom and a loo with a ceiling high cystern and loo-paper holder that has a built-in ashtray on top ! But so what ? Add in a flat screen satellite TV and you've got "quirky" rather than out-dated !
The room smelled a little of cigarette smoke when we first arrived but this soon cleared when we got the windows open and over all it was very clean and comfortable. We weren't in the hotel much and didn't eat breakfast there, but met 3 different receptionists and they were all extremely friendly and helpful.
Dieppe has some great bars, excellent restaurants (we ate along the quayside at Restaurante D'Atlantique and highly recommend it for superb seafood and very quick service), and a fabulous market on Saturday. We will definitely return, probably for a full weekend stay and would not discount returning to The Aguado although do like to try out new places. It's certainly worth considering and is good value at 80euros - just a shame the euro isn't good value against the pound !

Well placed between sea front and town centre
local restaurants are plentiful within 5 minute walk
Parking by the sea front could be a problem before the offices and shops close, a big problem at 15.00 hrs.
Sea view room a good size if not flash .
Good value.

Very pleasant 'standard' 3 star hotel - a step up form the Ibis and the like with three stars and located in a very convenient spot for the town and coast. Room larger than average, bathroom also larger than average, television had the usual Canal+ channels and minibar. Reception staff very helpful.

Like all of the hotels along Rue Verdun parking is by the beach in the free public car park.

This is not the cheapest hotel in Dieppe (100 Euro for one night bed and breakfast) but its certainly a good choice and I think its worth spending the extra 25-30 euros over the 2 star hotels for the extra space and luxury.

Well received at reception on the 19 and 20June..Room clean and adequate if not a little dated. Lift very useful when coming back from a shopping trip. Room 311 may be unique in that you can see down
the street to the harbour just down this street there are numerous very good restaurants. Hotel is ideally situated for these, and on the front of the hotel is a vast promenade. One small criticism, hotel fully booked with parties all descending for breakfast together. Outcome tables all needed clearing and food needed replenishing. Would highly recommend this hotel, Dieppe, and Transmanche Ferries for a short break.
