The hotel is very good located near the city centre and a parking garage just around the corner. But.... the room is very small; we ordered a double bedroom and got a double bed with a third one above our heads. Why? the matress was very hard and stiff and the pillow too small and soft. I never slept so poorly.....Price was too high for what it was...

Egg Hotel 600 metre walk from Railway Station. Good position close walking to all points of interest and the promenade.
Room a little cold and small, great for an overnight or two, not for longer holiday. No comfortable seats in bedroom or reception.
Good breakfast available.

Good things: Perfect location, right in the centre of town, 5 mins from beach, train station, harbour, restaurant, shops. Very cheap hotel. Very clean. Fairly quiet, though on a main road with motorbikes going past. Facilities work ok. Staff mostly helpful. Free wifi. Flatscreen tv with lots of channels, including BBC World News. There is a small window in the bathroom which is nice so you get a bit of natural light in, this is the first time I have ever seen this in a hotel bathroom. I hate artificial light in the morning. Window in room opens wide which I like.

Bad things: Rooms have no storage. Each room has a double bed under a bunkbed which is strange, there is no way it would comfortably fit 3 people. There is enough space in the room for at least a chest of drawers or cupboard, but there is only a desk and chair and some hangers on rails under the bunk bed. Bed is ok but seems to sink in the middle. Coffee machine but no kettle in the room, but this is probably normal for France. The bathroom is extremely small. The tap for the shower is above the sink, so a bit strange and hard to adjust to correct temperature, but shower worked fine.I asked for a quiet room but got one the side of the road which was noisier than the other side, the car park. Breakfast is minimal, there is only bread and jam and yogurt. And a bit of cheese. And the breakfast is 6.8 euros, a lot for such a minimal breakfast. Staff generally helpful, though when I booked a taxi to go to the ferry and was told 20 mins, it didn't arrive till 45 mins and the man on the desk was irritated with me for stressing about it when I could have been too late to book in..

I would recommend this hotel for a single person or a couple who don't mind a very basic room, who want a cheap weekend getaway.

Room Tip: I think that all rooms have a bunkbed above the bed which is strange. If you want a quieter room as...

Very clean, good location, comfortable mattress and in a room that could sleep 3. Coffee machine, flat screen TV and en-suite bathroom with good shower. Free parking less than 5 mins walk away (could just see my car from my room). Would stay again. Great value for money. Only unexpected thing was a tourism tax of something like €1 each. Only in France!

Good choice for 2-3 days, the rooms are quite small. It is on a main road near the railway station and you can reach the beach or the castle by foot in 5 minutes. The automatic sells machine didn't work the days we visited the hotel.

I have chosen to rate this hotel 5/5 based mainly on the value for money offered, which I think is exceptional. Here are a few reasons why I think 37 Euros a night (booked with Expedia) is such a great deal:

1. Central location - in the middle of the town centre, around the corner from one of the most famous landmarks, Le Café des Tribunaux.
2. Modern - The hotel looks either new or like it has been recently refurbished throughout.
3. Comfortable - I slept like a baby here, yes the room was a little on the small side (but not tiny) but the double bed was very comfortable indeed and I did not hear any noise whatsoever from outside. There was even a second, single bunk bed located above the double which I didn't need. Black out linings on the curtains also helped me enjoy a much needed lie in the next day (check out is 12 PM).

That's about as much as I can say, my room was, of course, ensuite, with a very adequate shower, all modern as previously mentioned. There was a stocked Nespresso machine, too (nice touch). This hotel is probably particularly suited to solo travellers, or anyone on a budget. The reception is staffed 24 hours, you get a code to enter the building after hours, they even offer breakfast for about 6 Euros if you want it. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I think Dieppe is a really lovely town and this will be my first choice of hotel when I come back.

I travelled to Dieppe by ferry from Newhaven, just for a solo weekend escape. As a foot passenger with no car it is a bit of a walk to get to the hotel, but it's a nice walk at that...but keep it in mind if you're carrying heavy luggage. Once there the location is great, right in the town centre, the beach is just around the corner and the restaurants near the harbour are just a stroll away, also it's really not far from the Chateu Musee up on the hill.
The staff were very friendly and spoke good English, no issues with check-in. the interior is simple, as expected for a budget hotel, the lift is in good order and certainly not outdated (as is often the case).
The room (304), which can sleep up to 3 people, was in a very decent condition overall. I could not find much to gripe about at all. Clean and simple. The duvet seemed a bit dated but the rest of the bedding was just fine, and comfortable.
The room has a nice flat screen TV with some Full HD channels, mostly French of course. I really liked the small Nespresso machine with a nice choice of coffees! This is a really nice touch for a budget hotel.
The bathroom was clean and everything worked, don't need much more than that. The window does a great job at keeping outside noise out, but there is a bit of internal noise from other rooms, not too bad though. The room did get a bit cold at night, but a heater is provided which did help.
Overall i really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, i recommend it to anyone looking for good, budget accommodation.
