“Room location for a family??”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

OK we know what to expect for the price, room is tiny, food is minimal, but it's clean and handy for auto route....but why oh why put a family room at furthest possible distance from reception and front door and there's no lift. Top floor and at the end of corridor....kids and bags?? Not Good!!

We used this hotel as part of our European roadtrip as we had used the eurotunnel in the afternoon, and reims was a good place to stop. This was a very no frills hotel that was clean and simple. The bathroom was small but spotless. The bedroom was very small too but did the job! There were no english channels on the tv, so we didn't use it in the end! In terms of restaurants in the area, it is by some form of shopping estate that has a few places to eat, but we went to the nearby hotel ibis' restaurant that was very good quality. Locationwise, this hotel is situated very close to the motorway so idea for an overnight stay for those on a budget (it only cost us £27).

Don't expect this hotel to be posh in any way but think of the price - sometimes we have paid less than 30 euros for a double room. We use it regularly when driving between the tunnel and the Alps. It is close to the autoroute exit and sits neatly between peage payment points on our route. The service is consistently friendly and for 5 euros the serve yourself breakfast is fine with croissants, cereal, hot drinks etc. They allow dogs and the additional charge is 3 euros (it used to be free but we don't mind a small fee like this). There are a few eating places around but we have never tried them. A Carrefour supermarket is nearby where you can also get fuel. Altogether, clean, friendly, good value and convenient.

Excellent value, very clean & comfortable reception open 24 hours and all staff where extremely helpful. Perfect for an overnight stop to break your journey or for a longer stop you are in a superb shopping area.
The free Wifi is also a bonus.

Checked in about 9 - surprised to find someone on reception. Big push on breakfast - which we declined since we wanted an early start. Loads of eateries around, but we didnt need to eat as we had sampled the delights of food at Eurotunnel.

Anyway, room OK - however, plaster falling off wall in both bedroom and bathroom, and funny ie horrible smell in the bathroom. Room has been refurbished so they need to get someone back to fix it.

Nice big Carrefour near to fill up, however, the computers were down so we couldnt get any diesel.

We used this hotel as our final stop before the tunnel in the morning. Lady on front desk had a bit of english, but was very pleasant and glad I could speak a bit of French! Hospitable place. Very very basic. Rooms were adequate for a night stay, but on the small side (had two rooms next to each other) bunk beds in both rooms along with a double bed (in both rooms). Average comfort - not great but not too bad either. The only issue we all had was the bathrooms stinking! Was really difficult to stay in their and brush your teeth in the morning (smelt like sewage at night, but like amonia in the morning)! Fine for our big family as a stop over. We opted for the breakfast and approximately 4.90 euros each (kids were 2'ish euros?) Breakfast consisted of cake, coissants, cereal, yoghurts, tea, coffee etc. Very basic - more for a business stopover really. Done us for the night :) TV, plug sockets and lights. Make your own bed. Car Parking outside (can get packed at night but always seems to be plenty of space. No tea or coffee making facilities.

Room Tip: Good for travellers, business men etc. Wouldn't recommend a long stay here due to the smells!

i booked this hotel, as myself and my partner were on a long road trip, and we just needed a place to crash for the night. We didn't need any "frills", as we were going to check-in late - we just wanted somewhere clean, and close proximity to the motorway... and that's exactly what we got. We booked in advance online for a discount on the regular room rate, and when we checked in, it was very straight forward. The lady on the front desk was a little pushy to try & get us to order breakfast for the following morning - 4 Euros 90 Cents per person. Basically its for pastries, coffee, and fruit juice, but as we were dining late, we never ended up trying breakfast there.. and to be honest I wasn't really interested to, especially after the lady was trying to get us to order it.

Aside from that, the place was modern, and clean. There was a microwave in the lobby for hotel guest use, alongside some overpriced vending machines. Our room was small but clean, and the bed was comfy. They have cable channels on TV but its pretty much all in French (well we were in France after all!).. It was also quiet there, so there was no disturbance from other guests, or any noise from traffic outside.

Withing 5 minutes walk of the hotel there are several restaurants to choose from for dining too. The hotel will try and entice you to go to their sister hotel the Campanile for dinner (they'll give you a 15% off dining voucher too) but in my opinion their dining option was over priced, as we had tried it the night before at a different location. A buffet that could cost you 23 Euros per person - and it's nothing fancy! The other eateries in the area were a lot more reasonable. We ended up dining at a Chinese restaurant across the street which was wonderful & inexpensive, but I'll save that for another review.

The hotel was within 5 minutes drive of a Carrefour hypermarket - great for stocking up on anything and everything, and it is right by the main access roads into Reims, and the main motorway running through France. I would recommend staying at this hotel, and I would definitely stay there again.

Tip: Book the hotel directly through accord hotels website - it's cheaper than going through a site such as Expedia.
