This was a stop over on our way further south. The staff were welcoming, helpful, attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant was great and both my husband and I had the menu gourmand. What a treat. We also asked the waiter to chose the wine for us to go with each course. They were all fabulous. We declined breakfast as still full from the night before but we were brought coffee and croissants to help us on our way.Our room was warm and comfortable with a nice outlook over the gardens

We stayed at this Chateau for just one night. The staff were friendly and welcoming to us and our dog. Our room had a nice outlook and was warm and comfortable with everything we needed.

We had our evening meal in the hotel which we both thoroughly enjoyed. The service was attentive and my husband and I both had different meals which were both excellent. The extra little surprise courses added were fab too. All in all an excellent meal and we would highly recommend eating here.

The following morning we had breakfast which was also very nice. This was a buffet with plenty to choose from.

We would definitely return to this Chateau in the future. Oh and I forget to mention that it’s dog friendly too!

Nice property, nicely appointed rooms, quiet location. The high point is the food. If you have the option select the "half board" which includes bkst & dinner, or at least consider dinning there one night. The meals were fantastic.

This is a chateau as one might imagine from an 18th century work of fiction. It is a magnificent building set in beautiful grounds, with superb interior decorations. The room was huge and well-furnished, and the bed was most comfortable. One draw-back for anybody with mobility problems - flights of stairs connect to the various levels..

Room tip: Views across the grounds are recommended.

We were looking a place to make a stop on our way home from Spain and had a look at some of the reviews. Generally I have liked the Relais du Silence hotels in the past so we thought that we would give this a try. It wasn't too far of the motorway though having gone into the town to buy diesel in the morning it was much longer to get back on.

On arrival the main building looks nice with a pleasant garden area in front. We were bunked in the pavilion a short distance away. This was probably the servants quarters in the past. It was all a bit run down though you could see the magnificence that it would have had in days gone by. The carpets were stained and the paintwork all a bit grubby.

There is no wifi in the paviliion so if that is a requirement for you ask to stay in the main building or go somewhere else.

Based on the reviews we were looking forward to a fine dining experience in the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a splendid old fashioned French dining room. Every one else in the place was offered hors d'oeuvres but for some reason they missed us out. We wondered if they didn't like the look of us but they were still quite happy to take our cash.

The food itself wasn't great. I had a steak and had asked for it to be done so that there was no blood. Unfortunately it was still a bit bloody and it was tough as well. It certainly was nowhere near a fine dining experience though it was pricey enough. There was a very curious unpalatable mush on the side which I just couldn't eat at all. The service was poor as well and the waiting staff seem to go out of their way so that you couldn't catch their eye. We had to ask for water for the table. Given the poor experience at dinner we didn't bother with breakfast in the morning.

The wine list is a complete rip off. Some of the wines were 3 or 4 times the price that you would pay in any other restaurant. They were obviously having a laugh.

I think in essence the place is trying to be something special but doesn't' match up to that ideal.

I am not prepared to recommend the place and we will not be going back.

Room tip: If you want wifi stay in the main building
