Modern hotel in lovely setting with stunning views of bay.
Rooms spacious and well equipped with all the latest technology - BUT NO AIR CON!!!!!! Not even an integrated fan or any kind of climate control! Fortunately as we found it unbearable to sleep they were able to find us a portable fan we could use, which was better than nothing! (We paid 350 euros per night for this room!)
Didn't eat in restaurant as we were informed on arrival that it was already fully booked.
Was a little disappointed they didn't have a larger, more comfortable terrace to sit/sunbathe on where we could relax and enjoy the wonderful view.
Staff all very helpful and overall enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Would definitely recommend a room with a sea-view.

The architecture, location, view, and small touches of this hotel were wonderful. The restaurant was good but lacked the exquisite taste, wine list, cheese choices and interest of many Michelin starred restaurants but the dining room and view were great. As mentioned by others before, the staff were pleasant but cold.
The Spa, if you had the audacity to call it that, was a disaster. Do not bother with it. They do not have a clue about a real spa and it seems unconnected to the hotel operation. There was no direction as to where to go, where to sit, where to shower, if they have a sauna or steam room, or anyone who seemed to care at all about helping you figure out where to change or sit. I could not even find a place to get a drink of water, nor did anyone offer any liquids. The message was a joke, geared toward the masseuse using as little effort as possible rather than exerting any effort. It was "a skin touching", not a massage. What a hoax. The hotel is a 4 star, stretched to a 5 star, but the spa takes the reckless attitude of the spa ruins the place being anything above a 3 star.

Dashed across Brittany for a couple of nights R&R.
Our suite was truely stunning, the view breathtaking and the food in the restaurant first class. The selection of fresh fruit in the room and the complimentary well stock (not-so) mini-bar was lovely, and the his and her bathrooms were a joy.
We spent two nights here, both nights we enjoyed Chef's tasting menu - completely different both nights. The meal ends with a (very) large basket of home chocolates being offered. You don't have to eat them - just choose which you would like, and your selection will be in your room before you are.
The pool is a little small for a top spa, but the view from the adjoining terrace more than makes up for it.

The L’Agapa hotel is located on one of the many steep hills in Perros-Guirec, not at the top, but not at the foot either. The hotel itself is modern, though many of the walls are old, but very well maintained. The hotel is very luxurious, with a lot of thought that has gone into the design of the hotel and rooms.

Most rooms have a spectacular view of the bay and its surrounding islands. To the right is part of the city, with a harbor, a casino, a big hotel and several restaurants. The hotel’s restaurant, Le Beluago, has the best view, with big bay windows overlooking the sea.

The room we stayed in was one of their best, located in the separate Villa Desirade (room 60) joined to the hotel by a roofed walkway. The room has a very big balcony/terrace overlooking the hill and bay.

The room itself is spacious with a bathroom bigger than many people’s flats. The sleeping area has a big flat screen TV, and a A/V projector that projects the TV image on a screen that slides down from the ceiling electrically.

A 5 minute walk from the hotel (downhill) sees you on the beach, with the casino, hotels and restaurants. There is also a ferry that takes you to the 7 islands, but you will need to check the departure days & times, since it does not operate everyday.

Further up is a hiker’s path, called “les sentiers des douaniers” (a path used in the old days by the Customs people), and it lasts about 5 kilometers. The path is easy, not too steep, and the views are impressive. The path leads you to the next harbor, a highly recommended walk even for people who do not hike.

The hotel has a nicely done spa, including a heated swimming pool, small gym, hot spa , steam room and sauna. You can reserve many different types of treatments, including massage. Outside the swimming pool is a nice teak wood terrace with chairs.

Restaurant
The Beluega restaurant has creatively made food, well prepared and tasteful. For some, it might be a bit too creative, but the taste is very good nevertheless. It’s not cheap, but the view is impressive.

The same restaurant is used to breakfast. The continental breakfast is well stocked, but items such as expresso coffee are extra.

Rooms
The rooms are comfortable, the mini bar, free drinks inside restocked everyday, is well stocked. TV stations are basic ones, of no interest to most people, but the reception has a large selection of DVDs, many with multiple languages, so you can enjoy an evening in while watching a movie.

The internet is sporadic, and slow. You can ask at the reception for a Wifi signal boost, which you plugin into your room.

Staff
The staff are very positive and helpful. Nothing is too difficult for them to do, and will go out of their way to help you. Since the restaurant is very popular they will try not to disappoint guests with not having a table, so when you arrive, or even when reserving, they will remind you to reserve the restaurant as soon as possible. If you do, you will see why, since all times we were there, the restaurant was full.

Positives:
Luxury
View
Comfortable
Friendly staff

Negatives:
Bad internet
Bad TV station selection, specially for foreigners
More simpler choice of food at the restaurant
Very bad internet line

Summary:
A great hotel, with a good doze of luxury, overlooking a bay with several islands. Expensive, but worth it.

Room Tip: Room 60 (two sides have windows)

We stayed at the hotel L’Agapa for four nights in early October, occupying a magical room (#71) on the top floor of the Villa Desirade. Every aspect of our visit was superb, with the small exception of a pushy female clerk at the reception desk during check-in, who tried to demand that we reserve at both the hotel’s restaurant and spa before completing the check-in process for the room. To counterbalance her behavior, we found a female colleague of hers to be very helpful with information and restaurant suggestions for all of Perros-Guirec. We simply avoided the pushy one for the rest of our stay.

Perros-Guirec itself is a lovely, lively town – the inland local area of small shops and cafes provided a wonderful morning of people watching and browsing. Don’t miss the chocolate fountain at the local chocolatier’s tearoom and shop. P-G is also an excellent base for side trips in three directions; neighboring villages to the west offer several choices of restaurants serving superb local seafood.

Our room had a bump-out seating area with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Trestraou beach and its broad, curving swath of sand. This view provided many enjoyable sights and sounds during our stay: views of the Sept Iles; views of surfing classes for toddlers and older children; the play of sunlight and cloud on the pink granite rocks of the headlands. The surf sounds were a fine accompaniment and sleep aid at bedtime.

The seating area was graced with a welcome platter of fresh fruit and a lovely orchid; salted caramels appeared as well. The side walls of the room’s upper story had matched sculptures of ship’s figureheads in white and gold: charming mermaids with flowing tresses and lobsters attached to their chests. Do seek out their pictures on the hotel’s website – so worth it!

The draperies (motorized of course), duvet and the bathroom’s tiling scheme are executed in a crisp black/white color scheme, as is the backlit headboard of the king bed. Carpeting is a creamy beige, and the entry hallway has separate built-in closet and shelved cupboards – heaven in terms of storage. The bathroom has double sinks, lots of Nuxe spa products, a stellar shower with built-in seat. The toilet room is across the hall; the bidet and oversized bathtub are in the main bathroom.

In the event that a large flat screen TV is too small, there is a drop-down screen and projection system for your viewing pleasure from bed. We watched a documentary on the seasonal transfer of cows to the high pastures in the French Alps – curiously soothing. There is a cabinet with mini-bar (free) and coffee/tea service items.

Breakfast is served in the main dining room of restaurant La Belouga, affording the same lovely sea view as our room. The draperies here have a delicate tracery design of agapanthus flowers, the hotel’s namesake. The continental breakfast buffet was excellent: a few nods to weight-watching by the spa customers, but also delicious canneles, far Breton, several kinds of croissants, plum and apple tart, many bread and cheese choices. Be sure to sample the cassis preserves.

There are many small, lovely touches in the public spaces: a cozy bar for drinking and reading; jewel-bright lighting in the hallways; charming photos of Charlie Chaplin’s filmography. The hotel’s exterior and grounds are also beautiful, from the grassy lawn with tables at the back of the main building, to the lush plantings of agapanthus bordering the front entrance. Do keep in mind that the upper floor of the Villa Desirade is accessed only by a spiral staircase – not good if one has limited mobility.

Room Tip: Room 71, top floor center in the Villa Desirade is marvelous! The mermaids reside there, watching o...

There is no air con in the entire hotel. We reserved a double garden-view room which was very nice, except the only form of air recirculation was a noisy fan over the bed which made too much noise to sleep, so we turned it off and had to open the window as the room was stifling. We then had the smell of cigarette smoke coming through our window from one of the other rooms. At 2.30am I was down at reception asking for an anti-mosquito spray, as both my husband and I had been bitten numerous times. The reception had nothing to offer and my husband spent another hour subsequently killing mosquitoes. The following morning we informed the hotel that we wanted to check out and they informed us they would keep the full night's reservation cost. We called booking.com, who called the hotel and they offered us a sea-view room if we paid an additional €90. The booking.com representative was not in agreement with this and the additional fee was wavered. The room was smaller; however, the view was nice. The hotel provided us with a mosquito plug in and we had a restful night.

The spa has a lovely terrace.

Our brief stay was too short given the service standards offered by all the staff. The rooms are a liitle small but with an incredible view, two easy chairs to look out from, desk, big bed, tv, dvd, free mini bar, electric curtains and great bathroom - what more can you ask for. Parking is a doddle and free.

One of the best in this part of France.
