“One in a life time experience”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

Where to start? From the wonderful surrounding of the green heart of Styria, to the gastronomy experience of a life time. (Wirtshaus am Pogusch)

Fresh mountain air all around will increase your appetite, and when you are ready to go inside be prepared to enjoy with all your senses!

I would strongly recommend Biftek Tartar on tasty Austrian homemade bread, and don't forget a glass of their domestic red wine. I fell the taste of it right know when I am writing this review :)
8 sorts of best Austrian cheese, lamb, soup, ... Whatever you choose you won't make a mistake.

For dessert, please, try warm chocolate dumplings with raspberry sauce and Vanilla Ice. (Warme Schokolade–Knödel mit Himbeersauce und mit Vanille–Eis). When you try this, no other dessert will ever be the same.

I hope I will have chance to go there again and enjoy wonderful Austrian food.

“Alpine paradise”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

A magical place in the mountains about 130 km from Vienna is definitely worth a visit, if you are around. Beautiful setting and interior, very good food and service, reasonable prices. Everything is made from local sources, there is a huge variety of homemade drinks, they even have their own beer. Actually the best Austrian beer I have ever had. I would definitely recomment their "goose liver mushroom" as the starter and their pogusch lamb as the main, which is at michelin star level. All in all, a beautiful place.

“Very well hidden in the Alps”
Reviewed May 14, 2012

First you'll think you are lost, then you'll think you have reached a farm, equipped with very fancy cars and 19" wheels... A reservation is necessary at this top-end restaurant some 1,5 hours drive south of Vienna. It offers traditional Austrian food (yes, you can get a Wiener Schnitzel here!) in a very typical Austian design setting, everything conducted by friendly and service-minded staff, which makes one feel very much "at home". Remember to bring cash, as credit cards are not accepted, and nearest ATM is not in walking distance, even though it would be down-hill...
