What can be better than eating in a chalet, accessible only by a 5 minute climb, immersed in nature?
Heidi cooks typical mountain food with passion. Appetizers are great, the polenta with stew is a real treat and desserts are good.
If you then consider the ambiance....
the 5 minutes climb is really only 5 minutes, and it’s worth.

Our family really enjoyed our meal at Heidi's and will remember it always. Forget pizza and pasta, we got to experience genuine northern Italian cuisine - it was a gourmet journey through antipasti, local meats and salads, then desserts, and we and the other 25 diners were served by great and friendly staff. Very little English spoken but that is part of the experience too!. Not having to choose dishes worked really well for us as tourists to the area - the food just kept coming - more than we could eat. The food was obviously very fresh, and most of it made on premises using ingredients from the vegetable garden just outside. You have to walk uphill about 300 m over an eneven rocky path to reach the restaurant, and a reservation is necessary. Not the cheapest meal, but value for money for the experience, location and freshness of the produce.

Located in the mountains, not accessible with vehicles; is necessary to park the car few hundred meters away and walk a path to reach the cottage-restaurant.... while walking we couldn't avoid, don't know why, maybe influenced by the surrounding mountain views, humming the Heidi song, despite that this is not Switzerland... :)

Inside has a very nice atmosphere, cozy, smart with rustic touch. Everywhere spotless cleaned.

As food proposal they only offer a set menu (around 30,00 something each person) which consists of some salami and cheese cuts, appetizers, polenta with peppers and varied meat stews. Salami were good; cheese a bit less; the rabbit stew was succulent and the braised venison tastes was intensed with apples and oranges. Lots of food, we couldn't finish it all.

Very friendly service, had a nice long chat with the lady owner.

Some might think that over 30,00 for a polenta menu is expensive when can find the same food offer somewhere else at cheaper prices, but think about the isolation of this place, everything has to be carried, delivery trucks don't arrive here...

Beautiful place to go when hiking in the surroundings. Reservation in advance is almost a must because as mentioned before, its isolated position.

It is located in a small alpine meadow just above Rassa along the same path that Napolean took across the alps during one of his invasions into Italy. The cuisine is a mixture of Italian & German, and the atmosphere is fantastic.
