“Worth visiting Wepre!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

Visited this park on a busy Sunday afternoon. The walk to Ewloe Castle was very muddy and quite slippery in places, due to the recent months of excessive rain. Some huge rocks had fallen onto the path in places. It was a pleasant walk despite this. A visit to the 5 dog graves in the grounds of the old Wepre Hall (demolished many years ago) will raise a chuckle. The visitor centre has good toilet facilities, food and drink, informative literature, and free car park.

“Pleasant and surprising part of Connah's Quay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

Connah's Quay is rightly not on the main tourist list for Wales, but Wepre Park is an oasis in an industrial town. There are nice walks, a pleasant cafe and interesting countryside with waterfalls and a ruined castle. It takes about an hour to walk up to the castle and down again, but bigger excursions are possible. There is even a site of an old battle against the English invaders.

“A hidden surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Not far from where I live is Wepre a lovely outdoor area, ideal for picnics, walks, feeding the ducks, children playing in the park. There is even a small golf course. A cafe inside the visitors centre offers hot snacks, home baked goodies and refreshments all at reasonable prices. Ideal for photo opportunities and walking.

“Unexpected delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

A completely unexpected surprise.

This huge park sits on the edge of Connah's Quay.

There are beautiful walks through wild woodland, you can stick to the managed tracks that are surfaced and easy to use or you can take the more challenging paths that disappear amongst the trees.

Amazingly this wood contains waterfalls, rivers, a skateboard park, a fantastic range of trees and about a kilometer from the visitors centre there is a castle.

From the large car park (free) you pass a large well equipped children's playground, the next stop is the Visitors Centre where helpful and interested staff are happy to answer any questions. There is a small popular cafe in the building where friendly staff sell a range of food including some lovely home made cakes. Attached to the Visitors Centre is a golf shop that services a golf course that sits next to the park, this seemed popular but not crowded.

MUch used by local dog walkers and walkers alike this jewel still feels rather undiscovered

“Lovely walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2012

The lovely walk to Ewloe castle along the stream/little river. Lots of interesting things to look out for and enjoyed by my grandchildren, including the play area, waterfall and stone bridge.
