Owner description: Our school offers high quality kitesurfing in Antigua. We offer tuition with IKO certified instructors (International Kitesurfing Organization) with the latest and safest equipment. We are located in Nonsuch Bay, on the windward shore of Antigua, in the Caribbean, where the trade winds blow strong and constant. The bay is completely closed by the reef and offers a condition of warm and flat water, ideal to learn and progress. Updated equipment, newest teaching methods and power boat assistance make the best combination for your perfect learning experience. The kitesurfing lessons will start from the beach of Green Island, a tiny island windward to Nonsuch bay, with white sand and crystal blue water; a perfect landing/launching area for kites.

I am an experienced kite surfer so really just needed to rent the gear and have a boat ride to the island. I had my family with me and was able to bring them with me to the private beach which was great for everyone. Corrado helped me set up the gear and hung out on the beach while I get a few hours kiting in. Transportation was easy with their pick up and drop off via boat. Great communication with Max and the team while I was arranging everything. Highly recommend 40 Knots if you are learning or experienced and what to enjoy a great day kiting in Antiqua.

As a sailor and water skier have always been captivated by what these “kitesurfing dudes” do on the water. HOWEVER, you need to learn in an environment that sets you up for success no matter your level of athleticism or addiction to adrenalin. 40 knots have been tradewind, blessed and set up in one of the best places to welcome the novice and shredders alike. Their ability to assess you goals and abilities and set you up with an instructor that takes you from zero to 100mph in a safe and enjoyable manner is truly impressive. They have a proven progressive system of learning that gets you up and on the water that’s state of the art. The equipment, instructors and process will put a smile on your face and leave you looking for just one more chance to send that kite and jump up! Thank you Susie, Jamal and Fabio I have some unfinished business.… be back when I can!

Excellent coaching received from Ivan and Fabio

Very friendly and helpful staff at both school and on kiting beach at Green island

Chris gave us excellent tips regarding taking care of our kite gear

All staff seem passionate about what they are doing, which makes a difference

Excellent kiting location at Green Island - water area is huge and very pretty, suitable for beginners on twintips and foils with boat support, and keeps experienced kiters interested.

Could be regarded as expensive, but you get what you pay for and you can see where the money goes with quality of instructors, management of beach, equipment and location.

Best kite school we've experienced from several over last years

40knots is an amazing kite school! Super professional with great teachers. We did several times “the Lift”, which means they pick you up on Antigua with the boat, bring you to Green Island and keep an eye on you for the whole day. The spot is perfect and the team takes really good care of you! Also I never saw any other school where the students learned to kite that fast! They go out with the students with boats so the students never loose time by walking back upwind on the beach and it’s super safe! Almost everybody was ready for the board after the 1st lessons, and that is really, really fast as everybody knows who tried it once...;) if you want to learn kite surfing there is no better place to go than there!

Could not recommend these guys highly enough! A birthday present for my boyfriend got us on the Beginners Camp, incredible introduction and great fun at the end experiencing the power the kite can give. Back the next two days for the Get Going course. We were both up and kiting by the end but wanted to make the most of the expert instructors, location, great team of staff and high quality gear. In total we had 6 lessons with these guys! We were able to talk through all the different equipment & any aspect of kiting, what would suit us as a couple working on a yacht and then what would suit us both if we wanted to limit the gear we carried around. We were able to trial some of the gear in a 1-1 instruction with some of the more technical instructors. In the end we bought all our gear from these guys, everything was in perfect condition and had only been used for a few weeks prior to us purchasing it. To go from knowing absolutely nothing about kiting to being an independent kiter in 6 lessons is a huge accolade to these guys on their knowledge, patience, instruction and being able to perfect every aspect of kiting. We stayed an extra few days in order to go out on our own without an instructor, launching from the beach. The support we had from 40 knots staff with launching and talking us through everything to keep us and others as safe as possible was incredible. They constantly have someone looking out for any kiters that may get into any difficulty. If you want to learn to kite, I would only recommend the amazing team at 40knots. A huge thanks to Suzi, Max, Irene, Tivone, Marko, Chris, Johan & Lise and the rest of the guys for being incredibly welcoming & making this an experience we will never forget!!!
