Owner description: Our school offers high quality kitesurfing and windsurfing tuition with IKO certified instructors (International Kitesurfing Organization) with the latest and safest equipment. We are located in Nonsuch Bay, on the windward shore of Antigua, where the trade winds blow strong and constant. The bay is completely closed by the reef and offers a condition of warm and flat water, ideal to learn and progress. Updated equipment, newest teaching methods and power boat assistance make the best combination for your perfect learning experience.
The kitesurfing lessons will start from the beach of Green Island, a tiny island windward to Nonsuch bay, with white sand and crystal blue water; a perfect landing/launching area for kites.

“40Knots Rocks”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

I am an experienced kiteboarder who has ridden at spots not only across the U.S. but in the Carribbean in Mexico and in South Africa as well to name a few. During those travels I have taken lessons and ridden with some terrific kiteboarding shops but none as good as 40knots. The location is amazing which always helps but more importantly the team there is fantastic with excellent equipment and a dedication to safety that is sadly lacking at many resort kiteboarding schools. If you are looking to learn kitebarding this is the destination for you. If you already know how to ride, this is also the perfect spot to take some advanced lessons or just to ride and have fun. I just spent four full days at Nonsuch Bay and wish it were four weeks. The 40knots team is dedicated to you having a good time. I cannot recommend them strongly enough.

“Do yourself a huge favor and do this!”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

These folks really care about running an excellent operation. As a former teacher and Outward Bound instructor, I can attest to their approach as safe, effective, and fun. The location is top notch and the water is absolutely gorgeous. Suzy is an excellent teacher; funny, patient, and supportive. Max, Irene and Christian are friendly, enthusiastic, and great to be around. Enjoy! I can't wait to return someday! Thanks again to the 40knots team!

“BEST Lesson of my life!!!”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Aside from the unbeatable setting and perfect learning conditions; you're in the hands of the most wonderful people/instructors you will ever meet. Irene was my instructor and she had me up riding within 2 hours! Chris and his wife are equally as sweet and fun to work with. I took 3 two hour lessons and am hooked for good. I am a sports fanatic and do most everything under the sun and this crew is the best of the best and again, the setting is off the charts! The only complaint I have is that I wanted to cry when I had to leave they made it SO GOOOOOOD! Be prepared for the thrill of a lifetime and pain of saying 'good bye'. 40 Knots, I hope to see you again SOON! Cheers you all. Best, Brew

“Unforgettable experience!”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

Just spent a fantastic few weeks praying for wind in Antigua. Cannot say enough good things about the 40 knots team and the Green island location. Beautiful calm waters and stunning surroundings - the ideal place to learn. We felt safe and a ease at all times - great equipment and brilliant teachers. The awsum Suzanne took my friend and I (two nervous beginners) from stand up wobblers to riders in a few lessons. She stuck with us even when we were let loose on our own and we did not want to say goodbye!. Max, Irene, Chris and rest of the team all made us feel like part of the 40 knots family and we will most definitely be back! Recommend to all!

“Soooo much fun! Kitesurfing is my new favourite thing!!”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

I was on an extended holiday in Antigua and had about 10 lessons with 40Knots which meant that I went from never having touched a kite before in my life to being able to whizz along and even change direction! It really is the most exciting sport and the 40Knots team seemed to make it their personal mission to get me up and going. Nothing is too much trouble, lessons were allowed to run over time if the instructor didn't have another lesson straight away, there were so many laughs and high-fives that I lost count, and the team work SO hard to make sure you have the right kit and the best possible experience. All the kites are new so you are learning with all the latest innovations in kiting technology and all the instructors are in ribs so they can scoop you up whenever you need a helping hand. The setting is also literally paradise.
I can't recommend 40Knots highly enough. Everyone needs to get on down there and give kitesurfing a go. You will be safe and very well looked after and you will have such a good time!
I'm already looking forward to going back - Max, Irene, Chris, Susie and Kai - see you soooooon! Helena xxx
