Wonderful welcome, excellent accommodation and facilities (all those remote controls to play with). Nothing too much trouble for Mel & Mick.
Only had a weekend this time but looking forward to going back later in the year.

We stayed at the B&B for two nights whilst on a weekend of activty in wales, Conquering Snowdon on the saturday and mountain biking on the sunday. We were made extremely welcome from the first minute by Mick and Mel, Mel a talented artist and Mick an ex school teacher with a lots of local knowledge.
In this newly decorated B&B our room was exceptionally clean and tidy. Had a great breakfast whilst getting lots of local info from our hosts. Nice place to chill after day of activity then few local ales in Bala just down the road.
Got absolutely soaked through on the saturday and Mick and Mel were even kind enough to dry our clothes. Great location for exploring the National Park and i would recommend this B&B to families, couples, and friends alike.

Thanks again,

Paul and Chris

My girlfriend and I stayed at Cysgod y Coed B&B recently as we were doing a spot of white water rafting and kayaking in Llangollen, with a hike up Snowdon to finish off.

To be honest, I booked a room at this B&B with the expectations of it being a standard B&B-nothing to write home about, but at least a warm bed for an evening or two....How wrong could I have been?!
Cysgod y Coed is, quite simply, outstanding! A beautiful house in a fantastic setting, and with possibly two of the nicest hosts you could ever dream to encounter!
Surprises round every corner, including a hot tub in the garden and fabulous reclining sofas in the lovely lounge!
Our room was clean, immaculately presented and with a much needed comfy bed!
Breakfast-wonderful! All local produce including the most amazing yoghurts (my girlfriend is quite the yoghurt addict, and has sinced looked at getting pallets of these yoghurts delivered back to us in Leicester)

An absolute gem of a find...Completely blew me away!

We stayed in the self catering cottage (on a B&B basis) which was clean, modern and beautifully presented. A perfect place to relax. Breakfast was both plentiful and delicious - and the soft boiled eggs were divine! Mel and Mick were fabulous hosts. Wish we had stayed longer.

We were welcomed with warmth, a smile and a cup of tea and some homemade cake.
We had been offered the opportunity to trial the self catering unit which Mick had recently completed. We stayed for ten days, our first visit to Wales.
They are such warm and friendly hosts who go out of their way to make you feel at home, and it did- feel like home!
Mel prepares a lovely English breakfast, or perhaps I should say, Welsh breakfast, or their is a choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurts, and WOW yoghurts!
The self catering unit has every modern facility from kitchen to comfy couch and fabulous saterlite HD TV and surround sound.
As newcomers to Wales, both Mel and Mick guided us daily to some fabulous places across the area. Walks,Waterfalls, Railways, Castles, Lakes and Valleys and Oh! Sheep Baa!
A great central point from which to explore the natural beauty of North Wales. Lovely family.

We stayed at Mel & Mick's guest house a few weeks ago and we were really impressed
by the attention & quality of service they gave us. They were also a great source of information when we needed local tips.

The tasteful decor of the rooms, the homely feel & cleanliness is all high
standard.

Breakfast was amazing and the pancakes were the best I've had, and that will be
the end of it! We will definitely be back if we are around Bala again. I really
admire the work they have put into the place literally from the ground up.

It's not very often I feel sad to leave a b&b. Really a faultless experience, a 5 star hotel could not do better.
