We stopped at the local tourist office at Vo` to enquire about the telephone number of Fattoria dell'Eremo and after phoning to confirm availability, we enjoyed a lovely drive through the gentle Euganean Hills dotted with many vineyards and crops before arriving at the Fattoria and being greeted by Rosalba. The property is set on a hill and had great panoramic views, on a clear day you can see the Prosecco vines of the Marca Trevigiana wine area and the Adriatic coast. The owners have restored this former convent using eco- materials and creating 3 large studio apartments furnished with elegance and warmth, and include a fully equipped kitchenette with small fridge (lots of cutlery, pots and pans etc). Queen size bed in our room with a comfortable sofa (which also converts to a bed if required). The sofa was great for reading and lounging. Bathroom was also larger than usual and included hairdryer. Small TV located near the bed. The large windows are set very high up and therefore had automatically closing shutters, at the press of a button. The restaurant operates only on the weekend, and the food quality is excellent. The choice is not extensive but we found it perfectly adequate, with a chance to taste their own wines. Breakfast is adequate, mainly juice, croissants, yoghurt, however, we asked for boiled eggs and these were happily provided. It was a perfect base to visit Padua and the Praglia Abbey. If visiting this area again with the same budget (70 Euro per night for a couple in studio apartment) we would definitely stay here. We also enjoyed meeting and being entertained by the kittens and the dogs.
