The Curlew is a real find! We have been going there for 2-3 years nearly every weekend for either Saturday or Sunday lunch.We are seafood lovers and adore the crab and lobster caught by Packie and served up beautifully by his wife Nuala. The ham and chicken are home cooked too and much of the food is organic.It's a good selection and the rhubarb tart and lemon drizzle cake are to die for-sooo good!
The prices are great- more than reasonable-12 euro for a half lobster salad is hard to beat!
There is a warm friendly atmosphere in 'The Curlew' with open fires and they also sell some lovely crafts and jewelry.The house is set in a lovely garden just off the road- great to lunch outside on a warm day.
The down side is they close around 5 pm but evening dinner can be pre-arranged with Nuala for parties of 6 or more.We have had a few nights there with family and friends for intimate gatherings. She will cook french or Italian cuisine also and our nights there have been magic.
It's good to have such high quality local produce-they only use the best ingredients. We highly recommend. Enjoy!
