“A very disappointing experience”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

The buffet was tired looking and dried out. The quality was very poor. We were charged EUR 14 for my 4 year old niece who ate 2 slices of cured ham and fell asleep. At EUR 20 a head the meal was grossly overpriced for the quality. There were hardly any desserts left and what was there was inedible. I sent an e-mail to offer them a chance to make a gesture but, a month later, not even the courtesy of a reply. This used to be a good restaurant but I won't be going back again. It gave my visitors a poor impression of Luxembourg cuisine which is very unfortunate as it's not the norm.

“Wonderful restaurant”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We went to this restaurant at the recommendation of the manager of the Mordorf Park Hotel. He said it's a place where he goes as he knows we often travel to Luxembourg and dislike places catering to tourists. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent and the prices were reasonable. We had such a wonderful evening that we returned the following evening, something which we would rarely doi. We are looking forward to our next visit.

“Avoid this restaurant”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

We ordered the typical "friture de la Moselle" and we get so disappointed. The fish got the taste of old used oil, the french fries were of poor quality and the salat saw its best days long time ago.
This menu does not require high skills but the Chef did not even manage to produce a good meal.
The service is low and slow and the staff run around like headless chicken.
We recommend to choose another restaurant along the lovely river.

“Down by the riverside.”

A lovely summer's evening, a terrace overlooking the Mosel(le), good food, good wine, friendly service. What more could you ask for?

“Service was bad”
Reviewed September 8, 2011

I was with a group of 15 friends, and we had booked to go on the tour of the wine cellars. We were called to enquire about our whereabouts 30 minutes before we were due to arrive. We arrived on time, but were told that we were going to have to wait another 30 minutes in order to be joined onto another group. My friend who had orgainsed this was very disappointed. The receptionist, and tour guide suggested we wait in the restaurant and have a drink. However, the staff at the restaurant said NO! So, no points to St. Martin for the organising of the pre-booked tour, and no points for the restaurant staff for not allowing us to have a drink. The weather was hot and sunny around 28 degrees C.
There were 2 redeeming features
1) Our (Dutch) tour guide was excellent! She had the right mix of facts, figures and humour!
2) The wine tasting at the end was wonderful. I'd never tried Pinot Blanc before, but really enjoyed this. Also, I don't really do Champagne/Cremant, but I did enjoy a glass here!
