My partner and I stayed three nights here and wished we could have stayed several more weeks. Not only is this a breathtakingly beautiful place, but the owners, Beth and Mike, were incredible hosts. They greeted us scones and tea upon arriving the first day and regaled us with stories of the area and advice about the best places to visit. They were warm, intelligent, and quite a joy to be around. As if the spectacular view was not enough, the breakfast that Beth prepared each morning was an absolute treat. Truthfully we were a sad the first morning after we returned home since we didn’t have Beth’s stewed plums or her six varieties of homemade jam. Wales was a treat, but it was the bed and breakfast that made it unforgettable.

I saw the internet details of Frondirion and thought it looked lovely so booked a twin room for a week in September for myself and a friend. We arrived with the tail end of a hurricane to the warmest of welcomes with a log burner full blaze and a ready pot of tea. The internet pictures are fab but even then we were pleasantly surprised by the room and the bathroom. It was absolutely spotless, we had a wonderful sea view and it is decorated in lovely bright and warm colors and material. I have stayed in bed and breakfasts for a week before and have found the cooked breakfasts more of an endurance test than a treat. No worries here, Beth and Mike are really flexible and we tried several breakfast combinations. I developed a taste for home made lemon marmalade, rosehip and apple jelly and duck eggs which we were lucky enough to find available during our visit. The B and B is 20 minutes walk away from town. We found this to be a very pleasant walk and as we both like a glass of wine with our evening meal we walked in and out of town for dinner on several occasions. Restaurants are plentiful in the town but I understand many of them except Y Branwen right at the bottom of the hill close during the winter. We really enjoyed the food at Y Branwen but I understand that if you wanted a winter weekend break Beth and Mike may also offer an evening meal which would save you having to go out at all. There is loads to do within the a reasonable walking and driving distance. There is no WIFI access and for us it meant a pleasant break from the real world. You can get intermittant 3G so we managed to find most local information we needed and when we struggled to find some specific local information Mike helped us out. To summarise then, Mike and Beth were lovely friendly hosts. We felt very welcome and very relaxed by the end of our break. Just what holidays are all about. If you decide to visit Frondirion I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Beth and Michael Rainbird run quite the best of Bed and Breakfasts.
Beds were really comfortable, and en-suite well equipped with a pile of towels.
Breakfast was excellent, plentiful, and varied to suit my husband’s grain free diet as well as my ordinary one.
All our enquiries, and there were many as we had a family wedding, were answered promptly, and they went out of their way to help.
We also found them entertaining company, and loved their charmingly furnished house with pictures, beautiful fabrics, and interesting collections.

Fancied a short break with my 7 year old daughter, and felt very lucky to find Frondirion. I can only describe this place as a real gem within Snowdonia National Park. Beth and Mike made us feel very welcome, a real home from home. The inspiring views from our room, tasteful decor and very substantial breakfasts all made for the perfect short break. Will definately be recommending you to friends and family. thank-you.

A fantastic view outside the window of our bedroom which was absolutely clean, well equipped with all comfort (included fresh home made oat and hazel nut biscuits!). Perfect to relax and rest! Beth and Mike, the owners were extremely friendly and welcomed us in the best way. Fresh and home made food in the morning, including the never-tasted before rosehip marmelade !

We stayed here after three days hard cycling and needed a comfortable stop. We couldn't have been better looked after than by Mike and Beth in this well-appointed house with brilliant views overlooking the bay. Beth's delicious home baking and preserves made eating here very special. Already looking forward to going back!
