“We had a great time on the farm.”
Reviewed April 26, 2011

We stayed at the farm for 2 nights over the Easter weekend. We arrived late afternoon after a visit to Harrogate which was less than a 10 mile drive. We were greeted by Christine who showed us to our lovely room which had great views of the sheep, lambs and calves at the front of the farm. The room was clean and comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was quaint with a great power shower, an immaculately clean bath and a plentiful supply of bubble bath too. Christine is very friendly and a natural hostess - we felt quite at home. Christine showed us round the farm as I was very keen to see the baby lambs. We also saw the piglets, sheep dogs and lots of chickens. The farm itself was very well kept and much cleaner than I expected for a farm yard!
The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of locally produced items all cooked to order. We'll definitely be back soon.

Room Tip: Visit McKenzies Smokehouse close by for coffee!

We were going to a family gathering and decided to stay at this farm so we could have more than one glass of wine. Christine and her husband were very accommodating and showed us genuine friendliness not just what is put on for tourists . We promised not to sing on our way home. It was so nice to look out of the bedroom window at the little lambs in the fields. Lovely to be able to wallow in a bath and have time to enjoy some special time away from the maddening rush of every day life. The bedroom had everything you could have asked for-all crisp and fresh .We had a superb breakfast as the sun streamed into the room. Was very impressed by the honey that is actually made by the bees on their farm. We only stayed one night but would certainly go back and will recommend it to our friends as there is so much to see and do around and a trip into Harrogate wouldn't go amiss either. No Basil Fawlty here . When it came to paying I can sum it up in one word it was a pleasure to hand over our money as I think they deserve every penny they charge

After staying with the Ryders last year we decided that this is where we want to stay again over the weekend for Valentines Day. Just as good as it was the first time and everything was first class. We felt we had to put in another review as we feel quite pleased with ourselves that we found this farmhouse bed and breakfast before it was announced in the Independant today .Scaife Hall Farm was listed in the best 50 B &Bs in the UK. Christine truly deserves the title as she works very hard to ensure everyone has a brilliant time I am sure it is going to be even harder to get to stay there in the future so we will have to do is do some serious forward planning

Arrived mid afternoon and were greeted by Christine. Shown to our room which was very clean and comfortable. We had good views of the fields and the moors beyond. Christine is a very friendly hostess and went out of her way to do all she could to make our stay enjoyable.
Our bed was very comfortable and the nights were very quiet.
The breakfasts were excellent.

My husband and I stayed at Scaife Farm for the weekend. We eat well, slept well and we walked in beautiful countryside with directions that Christine had given us. Everything was very good. I really liked watching the chickens in their yard and would have loved to have took them home so we could have had fresh eggs every morning just like we did when we stayed on the farm. It was a very relaxing time and would recommend it to anyone who wanted to have a countryside experience.

My mother and I have just returned from a stay at Scaife Hall Farm which is just outside Harrogate.Christine was such a friendly lady and served up the most wonderful breakfasts. We were treated to having honey that the bees had made up on Christine and her husbands farm on our toast .We shared a twin bedded room with lovely views overlooking the farmland. It was very peaceful and even though my mother does not sleep very well she had some very good nights sleep while we were there. We looked at several places to stay in the area but are so glad we choose to stay here and will certainly go again if Christine will have us.
