Really lovely old building, perfectly manicured gardens. This place is full of character. All public areas are well looked after, however, bedrooms are getting a bit tired... I have stayed in this hotel on many occasions and find their beds harder than usual, the bed was lumpy in one room...

All rooms vary in size. Bathrooms in some rooms are small.

Food in the restaurant is very good. Breakfast is served in an incredible historical room with high wooden panelling on the walls.

Staff and service are superb.

It is a very good hotel if you can booked it when it has special deals & promotions.

The staff especially Charles were lovely even the manager greeted and chatted to us Who we liked. Clearly the staff have been given free reign and take a very friendly attentive approach to their guests. It's so unusual and non typically britishwhich put us in an excellent and relaxed mood. The food at dinner was excellent ESP the triple fried chips wowaww ! But my one criticism was the breakfast was just ok and could do with a tweak. It was fine just disappointing after a great dinner and no baked beans or black pudding???? Yes the hotel is a bit dated but makes up for it in charm and beautiful surroundings. we had a huge room with excellent views and it was bigger than suites I've stayed in and it was a standard room I believe. I would def go back we had fun and a giggle .

We stayed here for a night after our wedding and were upgraded free of charge and a bottle of champagne on the house. Dinner and breakfast we absolutely delicious and the service was faultless! I see a few reviews mention it is a little dated, this is correct but the duty manager showed us the new reception area with its new floor and mentioned the new owner was doing all the rooms up one at a time. Once the upgrade is complete this hotel will be 5+ stars! Highly recommended!!!

I came here with my hubby for a night stay after visiting Bisecter Village. Overall, the experience was good and I will recommend it to others.

Location & Environment:
Very convenient location with less than 30-45 minutes drive from Bisecter Village or Heathrow Airport. A good place to stay after having a big shopping in Bisecter!

The whole development is big and spacious. We had a nice walk in the gardens after breakfast. Worth to walk around the hotel if it is not too cold!

Room & Facilities:
The whole building is very historial and very impressive. We stayed in Room 5. The room is big and clean. And it is nice that there has two giant windows which you can overlook the garden. The style of the room is in a "super old British" style, which that's one of the attractions of this hotel.

However, the bathroom was not very impressive. The bathroom was a bit dark due to insufficient light and its dull green color. There was no shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or body lotion provided in the bathroom. All we had was just a few pieces of soap. As a result, we had to ring up the service counter to request for the above items. However, all we got is just one bottle of shampoo.

Besides, there was not enough hot water for shower or bath in the morning. The water was a bit too cold for shower even though we had already tried to run it for a few times in different hours. Maybe you could finally wait for the hot water, the water get cold too quickly. It ended up I had to give up my shower and save the hot water for my hubby.

And there was no safe in the room, which was a bit inconvenient as you have to carry all the important stuff like passport with you.

There are many different newspapers and magazines provided in the lobby, which is quite thoughful of hotel.

Service:
The staff here are nice and friendly. By the way, they have kept a very friendly and well-trained labrador retriever called Holly, which lives behind the reception desk. I played with her in the morning and it was a lot of fun! Don't worry if you are not a dog lover, Holly will not come to you unless you invite her to play!

Dining:
The dining room is large and they had classical music played (CD of course, not live) in the evening. With the candles everywhere, it created a romantic atmosphere.

While for the food, they have lots of choices for dinner. However, since we were a bit too tired, instead of trying the famous tasting menu, we just ordered a leek & potato soup, cesar salad with grilled chicken, beef burger and fish & chips.

The quality of the leek & potato soup and cesar salad was excellent. The veggie was very fresh and the grilled chicken was tender and yummy. The presentation of the food is nice. For the beef burger and fish & chips, it tasted nice, however, it just not as good as the soup & salad.

For the breakfast, they have lots of choices (in fruit juices, bread and cereal). Their cooked breakfast tasted lovely. The mushroom, sausage and egg was very delicious!

I stayed overnight then we used the hotel for a business meeting. My first impression was that the hotel looked dated and tired - the dark cream bathroom suite reminded me of my parents house growing up in the 1970s. However, once you look past the chintz, this hotel has a lot going for it. The food at dinner was lovely and it was refreshing to be able to sleep with a window open rather than the locked windows of more modern hotels. The staff at reception were lovely. Breakfast was a let down - clearly not the same chef as at dinner - when I asked for a cafe latte I was told " well you could, but it will take ages - we dont normally do those at breakfast, the machine is in the bar" and I've never seen anyone make quite such a mess of trying to cook a poached egg.

Stayed for 1 night to celebrate my wife's birthday. The first impression of the manor house is very impressive. This place is steeped in history and I would like to have seen more made of the history with may be a page or two in your room telling you about the place. The staff here are fantastic! Very courteous, attentive and polite. A little thin on the ground but they work their socks off to ensure your never left wanting. This is a very quiet and relaxing place, it can feel a little like a library at times, but this is fantastic if you want to relax and spend a little me time. The grounds are fantastic and makes for a nice walk after a super breakfast.
The rooms are a little old fashioned, but that is to be expected. However, our room (4) did not have a shower. It would have been better to have the bath replaced with a shower. That said the room was clean and tidy.
The manger did a walk around at dinner (very nice guy) and explained that the hotel was under new management with big changes planned. If they stick with the charm but modernise the rooms this would be a clear 5 star trip advisor rating.
