I stayed here on business for one night, and I wish it was for longer. I booked through booking.com and managed to get a deal for £84.99 including breakfast, which is pretty reasonable for this part of the country and the quality of the hotel.

I arrived at this lovely stone built hotel and was greeted by the owner and checked in, finding out that I had been gived the suite was a nice surprise. The room was very nice indeed, and very well appointed. Wifi is available in some of the rooms, but due to the solid structure of the building with thick stone walls not every room gets it, however they will provide ethernet cables for you to plug into the socket in the wall to get online, so a thumbs up for this.

I didn't sample the restaurant, but if the quality of the breakfast was anything to go by it'll be worth the price, which could be considered expensive, but again it's pretty standard for the area. We decided to go to the local Oxford Arms pub which was about 100yds from the Hotel (turn right from the front door). I will review the Oxford Arms separately, but if you want my recommendation for somewhere alternative to eat and drink in the evening then go, they are so friendly in there, and the food was absolutely fantastic! I was with a colleague from Denmark who remarked that it was the best meal he'd had in England.

All in all this was a very pleasant stay, and I will most definitely be going back with my Wife for an extended stay at the earliest opportunity.

Room Tip: They will upgrade you for free automatically if rooms are available, but do ask for the Suite or one...

Nicely decorated rooms. Fresh and comfortable.

Food in the evening was rather expensive. Breakfast was not included. Felt that at £75 per night they could have supplied breakfast.

I will not be returning.

Our overnight stay at the The Dashwood was fine. The room was fine, functional, clean (other than the carpet), everything worked. It is all a bit clinical and soulless but perfectly adequate. The staff were OK - I didn't warm to them but they did their job again in a clinical way. The bar wasn't particularly inviting and you certainly didn't feel like loitering. The magazine rack held catering magazines rather than anything you would want to read. The food on the set menu was good value (12:95 for 2 courses) but unexciting and served in a sterile dining room - leather high backed chairs, no flowers, stainless steel salt and pepper servers etc. The menu was fish and chips, pie and chips etc. The chips were a bit anaemic. The bacon at breakfast undercooked. I found the whole experience a bit underwhelming - the hotel lacked warmth or imagination but was not a disaster either. It could do with magazines, flowers, smiling staff etc

My wife and I stayed one night in this quiet country hotel. We arrived late as planned but we enjoyed first class hospitality from the moment of our arrival. The room, in a purpose built annexe, was modern and well appointed with nice touches of individual toiletries, tea & coffee making facilities and an excellent shower ! The furnishings were excellent but I would just question the beige carpets in terms of practicality to maintain in a regular use hotel bedroom. We had a full English breakfast despite having had a 3 course meal prior to our arrival the night before; the aromas of freshly cooked bacon from the kitchen were just too tempting. The food was beautifully prepared and high quality. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for the weekend whilst visiting Oxford and Bicester designer village and it was convenient for both. The setting is a beautiful Cotswold village and the main hotel building is traditional outside with a chic, modern interior. It manages this whilst retaining it's character features. Our standard room was in an outbuilding overlooking the courtyard car park. It had no character but was well equipped and was both warm and quiet. it had tea and coffee making facilities (biscuits would be a nice touch though!), quality furnishings, a safe in the wardrobe and a very comfortable king size bed which gave us both a good nights sleep. The shower room also had good quality fittings and Gilchrist and Soames toiletries. However the water in the shower was barely warm even on the highest setting (maybe a blip) and mold spray or re-grouting is needed to make the shower feel welcoming.
The food in the lovely restaurant was very good but a little limited for vegetarians. Breakfast was again well cooked and presented, not large but adequate (and it can be easy to over do these things!)
For the Late Rooms price of £95 (with breakfast) per night we felt that it gave us good value for money.

If you like village life you'll love it here, we did! The best bit... the food. Has the head chef been on Masterchef??? He could win it for sure!
The worst bit... nothing!
So relaxing... the village shop had a card in the window reading "wanted, 3 plastic pots, contact Jean". Made us laugh and says it all. If only we could live in there.

We had our wedding here - a small family affair - and the experience was first class from beginning to end. The accommodation was absolutely beautiful, with a very high-end finish. The power shower is to die for. The food was nothing short of spectacular - from the platters we had to go with our bubbly to the 3 course dinner we had in the evening. The breakfast in the morning was similarly excellent. The staff bent over backwards to be helpful and were so kind and welcoming. I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment. We love the food, the ambience and the staff and will be back again very soon.
