Great restaurant, lovely food and a very nice atmosphere. It's very Catalan. It is on the right as you enter the village of Pal, which itself has wonderful views. The portions are huge! Be warned the restaurant is very popular and can get pretty busy.

This is a very popular restaurant but the food is a little heavy for my liking. I am obviously in the minority but I would like to see some lighter options and some weekly/daily specials. Times have changed but the menu hasn't!
The atmosphere is good and if you are a hungry meat eater it's worth a visit - lunch only I think??

We visited this restaurant with a friend, who said it was typical Andorran/Catalan cooking, and thought we might enjoy it, and he was so right. We arrived around 12:30 and found the restaurant was completely empty, we asked if we could book a table for around 13:30, the lady owner (Lydia) said the restaurant was completely booked, which as it was quite a large place was a bit surprising. She said we could eat now or return after 15:00, which rather than eat in an empty restaurant we decided to do.
When we returned the place was buzzing with not a single table empty, so we waited by the bar for a table, this was actually to our advantage because there is no written menu, the owner tells you what is available on that day but she only speaks Catalan. While were standing at the bar we could see what some of our fellow diner’s were having which is always helpful. Fortunately our friend speaks a little Catalan and some Spanish, and by a combination of standing at the bar and looking at what our fellow diner’s had ordered and the owners description of her menu, we were able to understand what was available on the day.
For a starter I choose the local snails (cargol in Catalan, I think), they were served in a clay dish with some local sausage in a slightly spicy sauce, and were absolutely delicious, my wife had the local cured ham with melon, also very nice. For main I had cervol, which is a small local deer, I saw it being served to another diner and asked the waitress what it was when she took our order, she pointed to the wall where the heads of several deer like animal’s were on display, and pointed to one with antler’s and a satisfied look on it’s face, as well it should as it tasted fabulous! and was served in a clay pot with a separate dish of roast potatoes, my wife decided to play safe and stick to some roast pork, while our friend decided to try the pig’s trotter’s, I won’t bother to try to describe what they were like! The whole meal was excellent and washed down with some very quaffable local red wine which was served in an assortment of bottles, when we were near the end of the meal we asked for a half carafe/bottle but she poured us a whole one and told us just to drink what we wanted, so we did, all of it!
This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you are ever in Andorra, it is located in a tiny village called Pal which is about 5 minutes drive from Arinsal, and is the first restaurant on your right as you drive into the village, there are another two further along which from report’s I heard are also very good, but without having to invest in new trouser’s, or expand my waistband, are down for the next visit!
The restaurant only opens at lunchtime, and it is advisable to book, there were very few tourists apart from us, most of the customers seemed to know the owner so were probably regular customers. I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough if you are looking for fantastic regional cuisine, in a restaurant with excellent ambience, then pay this one a visit.
