Maravu is a true gem. Staying there was such a great decision. The staff was outstanding, our room was great, and the time spent on our terrace watching the ocean and the palm trees - priceless. The internet can be a bit dodgy, but we didn't mind. After all, the places on this side of the island work on generators and some offline time goes a long way when it comes to de-stressing and reconnecting with all the good things in life. If you are looking for remote, relaxed, and friendly, Maravu is a great choice. Will definitely come back.

Room tip: Our partial ocean view bure was outstanding.

Maravu is a good mid-range option on an island where there aren't a great deal of affordable options. The staff at Maravu are very friendly and helpful and will help organise day trips and travel around the island. Sabby is running the show and she is brilliant. The grounds are stunning, very green and lush, however that could be to the abundance of rain Taveuni gets.

Note that Taveuni is quite isolated and so is all the accommodation on the island. So you find without a car, you are getting a lot of taxis or risk being "stuck" at the lodge. The nearest (and only) ATM is 15 mins by car in Somosomo Village, there are a couple of mini-marts about 15-20 min walk away.

There are a couple of alternative eating options close to Maravu:
- Tramonto is a 10 min walk and has the best sunset view! At least have a sunset beer here.
- The Dive Shop is a 3 min walk and has freshly baked cakes and Vonu beer for those over Fiji Gold.

The only thing that could be improved is room service. I know it's mid-range but I had to ask for a clean towel twice (I used my first towel for 4 days and due to severe rain, it never dried out, so got quite stinky!), but both times a clean towel was provided swiftly!

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and definitely recommend.

Room tip: Most of the bures have views!

My girlfriend and I stay four days at the lodge and we had a pleasant time. The room, a cottage just for the both us, was nice, clean and with a/c. The service was all the time very kind and the personal was ready to help. They contacted us with a very nice taxi driver and tourist guide, Ajay and his father Deo (+679-9312550), who took us all around the island showing us the most beautiful spots!

Unbeatable value for money !

Room tip: Nice room!

My girlfriend and I just spent a week at Maravu Lodge and fell in love with the place. The staff were always smiling and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel like part of family. I felt like we saw a real authentic side to Fiji staying here at Maravu and we loved our ocean view room with the deck.

We enjoyed 5 nights at Maravu and it very quickly felt like a second home. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome every day. Especially Savi, who is the soul at the reception. The location is a perfect starting point for many activities, like waterfall visit, natural waterslide fun, going to a small shop or even to go on an island tour. Savi can arrange pretty much everything you want to. She organized some diving with a top dive shop on the Rainbow reef, which is absolutely amazing!! Once arranged, the dive shop does a free pick-up at Maravu. If you just want to go snorkling you can go to the beach right below Maravu. Swim out at high tide in front of the little place called "The dive" and go either left in front of Tramonto (swim a little further out, where the reef has a bigger drop ... roughly 300m), or go right along the beach to enjoy world class corals with all kinds of tropical fish. Really amazing!
If you do not feel like going far you can also enjoy some relaxing time around the pool, which is super clean and very nice to swim. The common area is just next to the pool on a very beautiful covered veranda with a view on the garden and a glimpse of the ocean. All tables have fresh flowers on the table every morning!
The entire garden is huge and very well kept. Right next to the common area there is a volley ball field, which has occasionally people playing. We had a superior villa for the entire family with a terrasse overlooking the ocean! The bure was very spacious and the bed super comfortable. The bathroom was huge and always very clean and featured warm water. The AC also contributed to a lovely stay :-).

In the garden there are many fruit trees and you are free to pick them. We got coconuts, limes and small mandarines.
The food in general was very good and decently priced, although the choices were not tremendous.
I can definitely highly recommend staying here at Maravu. We at least had a great week of relaxation and activities.
