The overall experience was ok. I think they what would have helped also is that your boat could also take people to chat n’ chill for a small fee- the room needed to cleaned a little more while we were away for the day...a lot of the staff stands in groups and talk amongst themselves while customers are standing and waiting for their help

Hello HLM1111111,

Thank you for staying with us and I am happy your overall experience with us was fine. Thank you for your comments about our Boat Shuttle. Right now, yes, we only take guests to our Beach Club. We thank you for your patience as we continue to try to find ways to improve the Exuma experience we aim to show our guests and are always open to suggestions. I will also be sure to mention your comments about the gathering of staff to the Restaurant Team. I do apologize on their behalf.

Kind Regards,
Kristen

P and P has been around for decades. they recently bought a property on stocking island. It sits on a great sandbar and service for food and drinks is fast and of great quality. We went by tender off a boat but I think they offer a day pass from the main hotel that offers transportation back and forth. Great place to spend the day but they also have cabanas fro rent. Greg, the manager is always around making sure everyone is taken care of and that all details are looked after. We actually found out about it because we met Greg one day on his day off and he was mentioning what a cool place it was.

We started our trip with 2 nights at CPP and finished with 5 nights there. We stayed at Lumina Point in between (see other review).
1) We weren`t too thrilled with the queen oceanfront room that we had for the first 2 nights but for folks who don`t care much about the room, you can't beat the location. We had a big balcony but it needed to be cleaned. The room was small, which was ok, but there was ABSOLUTELY no storage.
2) The pool area only had 2 umbrellas....that`s not good. The small pool is absolutely fantastic though. You will love it! The VIEW is to die for!
3) The outside bar is very nice.I cannot remember the name of the wonderful bartender (sorry!!!). He was just great!
4) The Thursday BBQ was not so great. They start a lot later than they say they will and it is super disorganized. Island Time is just words to describe disorganization here! You wait in line for a LONG time. The quality of the food and cost didn't warrant the process. The chicken still had some feather pieces on it!
5) The location here can`t be beat! Liquor stores, Minn's boat rentals, grocery stores, banks, Two Turtles Inn outdoor bar and restaurant (a must visit) -- all so close.
6) Note of caution - we brought some cash, which was a good thing. There had been a major power outage and no one could take credit cards. They had to bring people from Nassau to fix all this. We had to visit the ATM several times.
7) There is a cute indoor bar...and the bartender was delightful! Check it out!
8) It's a bit hit or miss with the staff. If you are familiar with CPP, you know Doc. He is the best! We found some of the staff to be super nice, smiling and helpful. But this is where CPP really has a problem. Train staff to be nice and helpful and to not talk about each other in front of patrons! We were amazed at how long simple things took to resolve and how unfriendly some people were. Staff should refrain from talking about each other in negative ways where patrons can hear.
9) Get the Club Suite is you can! We spent 5 days there and LOVED IT!
10) The beach club is really good. We gave a shout out to CPP beach club on our review of Chat n' Chill! The burgers and hot dogs are really really good.
LOVED CPP and hope this information is helpful!

Room tip: Ocean view if you can swing it. Club Suite was awesome! The room with a kitchenette is set back from direct ocean view...not so good.

We thank you for your review and we’re thrilled you enjoyed your time with us. I am happy you chose to stay here at Peace & Plenty twice and were able to experience two different rooms. For you comment about the lack of storage, this is something we hope to have in our rooms in our next phase of upgrades. As for your comments about the restaurant, I apologize on their behalf and I will be sure to discuss your notes with them. Overall, we are happy you enjoyed your stay and our Beach Club. Please come back soon so that we can do it all over again!

Alecia and Ayza at the front desk make everything easy - very kind and delightful to interact with. Mona Lisa at the bar was awesome and makes the best Bahama Mama on the island. (I think I may have tried them all!). The boat shuttle guys and the folks at the Beach Club were also awesome. The views and rooms and grounds were perfect — its a great place.

I have 2 complaints:
1- the last boat back from the beach club is at 5/5:30. Why not have it be after sunset especially since you can’t see the sunset from the hotel?
2- the gringos on the staff were aloof and unfriendly. When we asked in the am if we could go somewhere for a quick shower before our flight in the pm the only solutions they had were an outdoor shower or pay for another night. After spending so much money at such a small hotel I thought it was a reasonable accommodation that they could have made for me. The reasons for why this was impossible shifted from “no rooms available” to “no housekeeping available” to “that’s just our policy”. At the end of the day, they just didn’t want to, which is a real shame. Great customer service is about doing little things that mean a lot to the customer but don’t cost much to the business. This could have been a big win and instead it left a bad taste in my mouth as I left.

Hello FOXtraveler1,

We are very happy to hear that you found Alecia, Azya, Mona Lisa and the rest of the staff to be so wonderful. We will be sure to pass on the kind words to the entire team!

I understand that you would have preferred to have the Beach Club open later into the night. However, due to the safety of our guests and also to avoid the onslaught of mosquitoes and no-see-ums that come out right at sun down we think it is better to get our guests back to the mainland on or before our last boat that leaves at 6:00 p.m. With that said, we will take your complaint into consideration as we continue to improve our hotel services & amenities.

I find your second complaint and insulting use of language to be distasteful and it does not fully summarize your request and our options given to fulfill that request. On your day of departure you requested to have somewhere to shower at 5:00 p.m. prior to getting on your flight. We explained our late check-out policy which we extend until 1:00 p.m. for a $50 charge or until 2:00 p.m. for a $75 charge. Typically, for any requests later than that we require payment of an additional night. You stated that you did not want to pay anything for the use of the shower at 5:00 p.m. We then offered the outdoor shower that we have on the dock which you'd be able to use with no additional fees. You declined that option also and demanded a room to shower in and wanted to pay no additional fees because you had stayed with us for 4-nights. Because we understood your great desire to get a shower we extended you the offer for the $75 late check-out fee rather than an entire nights stay. This fee is to cover shutting the room down for the night and the re-cleaning of the shower and bathroom, sweeping and mopping of any sand left behind, and cleaning of towels used the following day. To this offer you laughed and asked if we really wanted to charge this fee to a guest who was about to leave and could write a bad review about the hotel. Unfortunately, and despite our best efforts to accommodate your request, you still declined and chose to post this review.

I am sorry that the solutions we offered to you were not what you wanted and I am sorry that our demeanor seemed aloof and unfriendly. That was not our intention. We wish you happiness in your future travels wherever they may take you.

Best,
Brian

For our first trip to Exuma, we stayed at Peace & Plenty. Upon researching, I loved the 'old school but renovated modern vibes' as you just know this would have been a chic place in the 60s/70s!

Rooms were modest but comfortable, renovated and more than enough for what we needed. Certainly recommend the waterfront queen room - views were beautiful and private!

We were welcomed by Doc who was such a joy! Front desk check in was very thorough with friendly staff.

BEST thing was the beach club! What's not super obvious from the website is that from directly out front of the hotel, it's just a dock with the water - no beach sand to go out on. We saw out from the dock which was fun, but for the beach experience you catch the complimentary boat over to the Beach Club - which made it an experience! Beach Club is stunning, so pretty with friendly staff, especially Greg!

We did not eat in the restaurant, as we heard from some other guests that they did not feel it was the best experience, so apart from a mimosa and an espresso, we can't speak to that experience. Restaurant staff were 50/50 in service, hit or miss. Most nights we ate at Shirley's (seafood) up the road, but be warned this is a $15 taxi there and back for only 1.5 -2 miles!

Rudy was a great bartender out by the pool - very friendly and was up for a chat!

Overall we had a really great time at Peace & Plenty and would certainly recommend if you're looking for a stunning location, with fun amenities like the beach club and boat ride. it's not 5-star but more than enough for an enjoyable fun stuff - we would come back! :)
