“Good Value”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

Paid $199 for an Executive Twin bed room for 2 adults & 2 kids Aged 10 & 8 (Access to club level & breakfast included) Pretty good value for the Gold Coast in Peak season. Regular room & brekkie was $161

Big pool, Slides just right for our kids. Had lots of fun riding Segways & Laser Clay shooting (Extra charge, and Quite expensive really).

Executive club not worth the money. Other than a few meagre nibblies between 5.30-7pm, only thing on offer was Tea, Coffee & Water during the day.

Room Tip: Don't waste your money on the executive Lounge.

Dear OD

Thanks for your review - the new leisure facilities you experienced have been very popular with guests - the Segways and Laser Clay Shooting. I am glad you thought the resort was good value - we do try and ensure auto club members get a great deal and are well priced below competitor properties on the coast

Kind Regards

Fabulous resort. Great value for money. Stayed three nights with four and six year old. Booked on wotif.com as it was cheap. Pleasently surprised by standard. Lots to do. Pool was a highlight, with towels provided and great poolside bar and cafe. Room very clean and nicely decorated. Food in restaurants high standard. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Gym fitted out very nicley and super clean. Room service very affordable, great option with young kids. Will be back!

Royal Pines is well worth a visit. It has easy access/parking and a good variety of activities (golf/tennis/swimming/playgrounds/segways) and eating options/restaurants (formal restaurants & casual snacks). Prices are quite reasonable. We tried the executive package this time which included access to the top floor executive lounge (free drinks, finger food and a great atmosphere).
A few negatives include slow lifts (waited over 30 minutes for lifts during peak periods of use), TVs are old and slow with no screen displayed program menu, no shops in or near the resort (can't buy simple items such as milk/biscuits/magazines etc).
Over-all Royal Pines is well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Higher floors have great views but be prepared for longer wait times for lifts.

Dear brisbane Goodlife

The Executive Lounge that you tried on your most recent visit has been welcomed by our guests. As you experienced - a great location, amazing views and breakfast and evening drinks and canapes - a winning combination
Our lifts are currently getting a full facelift and refit, with the first of four guest lifts completed last Friday. They look absolutely amazing but unfortunately during the fit out period there can be some delays as one lift is out of use for the fit out.
I note that you enjoyed our Segways on your last visit - they are a lot of fun and have been very popular with our guests.
Kind regards

Very nice place to with complete family or couple. has an awesome golf court surrounding it, unfortunately I do not play golf. service, rooms, food, every thing is very nice. Early breakfast or late dinner on the restaurant on the top floor is simply superb. would definitely suggest for a romantic dinner at this place,. this place gets A+ from my side.

Dear Maruthi_s

Thanks for the A+ - a great mark! Our rooftop restaurant Videre, is definitely a good recommendation for a romantic dinner. Set on the 21st floor with views over the strip it has arguably the best views on the Gold Coast. Our new chef Sean Chambers is also making some culinary waves with his fresh and oh-so-delicious food.
We look forward to welcoming you back!

We stayed just one night, but we had a fantastic time. Arrived late afternoon after a day at Whitewater World. The pool was perfect - the kids really enjoyed themselves on the slides while the parents enjoyed a drink on a sun lounger. All the staff we interacted with were excellent. The pizza is good, which you can have 'take away' by the pool.

The playground and jumping pillow topped off an perfect stay. All great value if you're a motor club member too.

Dear OzziePoms

Thanks for your review - the pool is a great way to cool off after a hard days sightseeing and, after one of the Theme parks a relatively quiet sanctuary!. The pool slides are always popular and amuse the kids for hours giving you the perfect opportunity for a relaxing drink..... I will pass on your comments to the staff - positive guest comments are always a lift to their day
Thanks again!

Dear KodySydney
It is a shame that you could only stay for one night but hopefully your positive experience was such that we will have you back again....
The views from our rooms are great (as you mentioned) - one of the advantages of the location is that there are no large buildings nearby so the view is clear in all directions.
Thanks for the great review!

We had never stayed in a auto club resort before , booked this hotel while driving up from Sydney. I felt lucky that we did. Been GC a few times mostly stayed in beach front places. Staying this resort is good change for us to be away from the busy town centre..

Location is great, easy access (with car) to theme parks, beach and town.
Room is modern, clean and spacious. We had a 2 double bed room which accommodated 2 adults and 2 little kids with ease.
Restaurants are great. We were impressed by the Japanese restaurant and the seafood buffet .
The resort is family oriented with loans of playground for kids and adults. They can even look after your kids while you dine.

Recommended for family travellers.

Dear Raymandoo

Nice to have you stay with us and delighted that you decided to try us. Interestingly feedback I often get from guests or socially is the misconception that the resort is only for RACV members when in fact it is available to all auto club members in all states ...RACQ, NRMA etc etc

The location is a real plus as you point out...and one of the advantages of the resort is that when it was built, bigger rooms were the fashion so that the rooms are quite generous in size....

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you and your family back in the future

Kind Regards
