Beautifully situated just a short distance from Winton Castle.
Huge rooms with high ceilings, very well equipped. We catered for dinner for 12 with no difficulty. The farmhouse kitchen is superb and full of character.
The sitting room and games room ensured that none of the party got bored.
Having been married at the castle in July 2016, we decided to return to one of the cottages with some family for our first anniversary - perfect way to celebrate and everyone loved being back at the venue. Staff were extremely helpful and efficient in making sure we had everything we needed, even providing more charcoal for our BBQ on the Saturday evening within minutes of our request (true Scottish BBQ style in the rain but we were determined!). The farmhouse is such a beautiful cottage to stay in, the bedrooms are very spacious with everything you need for a weekend stay. We had a more formal dinner on the Friday evening in the dining room which was the perfect size to cater for our group, we then had the fire lit in the living room to relax and have a few drinks which went down very well and the gardens are extremely well kept - we will be returning!!
I booked this Farmhouse for my friends Hen Do. There were 13 of us in total and we all agreed it was the best place we had stayed in as a group.
It was in the middle of the most beautiful Scottish countryside and it seemed like there were no other people around for miles, completely secluded and private.
The farmhouse itself was stunning inside and out. The rooms were all large with lovely beds and with stunning views from the windows.
The kitchen was big and equipped with everything you need to enjoy your self catering holiday.
The dining room was lovely and the piano was a great addition (especially because the bride is a pianist!)
The walled garden was gorgeous and the hay bales in the barn were great fun to sit on!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this farmhouse to anybody!
Thank you for your hospitality, it was certainly a weekend we will never forget.
The Bride Tribe 2017
We had a great long-weekend at Winton farmhouse where we celebrated a birthday! Large rooms, good standard and a wonderful atmosphere.
This was our second family stay at Wintonhill Farmhouse. Travelling all the way from Australia, it was just as warm and comforting as our experience 5 years earlier. It looks a little older (as expected), but feels just the same.
The staff at Winton Estate are attentive, with excellent communication - Janis most definitely went the extra mile to make sure our Christmas and Hogmanay were both memorable.
My only complaint is that there is now a television on the wall in the front sitting room, which detracted from all the lovely time spent sitting by the fire. But if your only complaint is a tv the works, then it's a pretty great place to be.
Do yourself a favour, and spend some time on this beautiful Scottish estate.
Took a party of 16 here for a stag trip. House was fantastic and all of the guests were impressed . Fitted all in bedrooms well with 2 x z-beds which had all been set up prior to arrival. Everything was clean and tidy and instructions available if needed help with anything. Views were amazing.
Organisation and staff were brilliant and helpful. Did the shooting during the stay which was also fantastic the staff were very helpful to those who hadn't shot before and every single person enjoyed this. Jo's kitchen came in and did a Sunday roast at the house which also everyone enjoyed. Had wi-fi onsite too.
Thank you for a memorable experience!

Stayed here as part of the Vaughan party! My folks booked this for a large group of us to stay in prior to a family wedding in Edinburgh.
The house is excellent, so much space for everyone and the kids that were with us had ample room to run around in. All of the bedrooms/bathrooms were huge and have plenty of storage space.
The family style kitchen was great and we thoroughly enjoyed using the large wooden table, it was perfect for us all to be able to share our meals around. We were also luckily enough to enjoy some excellent weather so had the chance to roll out the BBQ....all equipment and lighting fluids were supplied as well for us.
The surrounding grounds are huge and well maintained. A large walled secret garden at the back of the house was brilliant for practicing some golf or just kicking a ball against a wall! I went for a run on a couple of mornings and found that there was a large wooded area further up the main driveway which then led to some public footpaths.
Location wise it was perfect, far enough out of the city to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside but only a short 20minute drive to the outskirts of Edinburgh. Surrounding villages were very convenient for grabbing some extra milk and bits if/when required.
Overall an excellent stay and highly recommended.
