First of all i was not staying overnight at lazy beach, as it was fully booked. I was staying at a tent-bungalow on the other side of the island at the Eco Village Resort. As the service there was unbearable i used to walk through the jungle every day to spend my days at lazy beach!

The daytime-service was fantastic! The atmosphere was so relaxing and the staff was so friendly and interested in talking about god and the world.
The food was delicious and they had variety of meals and drinks to offer! (Mango Cheesecake was the best!!)

The beach was calm and wide. Near the rocks it was great to go snorkeling, as the underwater world is very lively and colorful! We even had the chance to meet some wild monkeys at the beach! :)

I'd love to come again and this time book early, so an overnight stay is alos possible!

It's hard to overstate how great this place is. Rich and Chris and their team really understand what travelers are looking for. It feels like an exclusive club with what must be nearly a mile of pristine beach shared between around 16 huts. The most we counted on the beach was about a dozen people at one time. Food in the restaurant is great and there are plenty of activities to do if you get bored with beach life. Everywhere is clean and tidy and attention to detail is excellent. Not the cheapest option but great value.

After the grubbiness that was Sihanoukille, Lazy Beach felt like a little piece of Paradise. The beach is long and beautiful, the water is warm and clean. The staff are laid back and really friendly. The food is good solid fare and very reasonable. Anyone going to Sihanoukville would have to be insane not to stay here. Only being able to book by phone doesn't fill you with that much confidence but we booked months in advance from the UK and had no problems at all when we arrived - the manager of our guesthouse on the mainland also helped by confirming it at the office for us.
The bungalows are pretty basic but solid with wonderful terraces and hammocks. Their simplicity is part of the charm of the place but without a fan or netting over the windows to allow you to keep them open at night they do really heat up making a good nights sleep not all that easy. Not neccessarily a problem when all you have to do the next day is laze about in a hammock and swim in the sea!

We stayed 3 nights and loved it. Lovely clean beach with a rustic resort run by 2 nice friendlyEnglish guys. The idea is to RELAX. No electricity although the generator goes on at sunset and goes off when the last person goes to bed. Lots of games like chess, jenga etc etc. The guests were mainly couples but some with small families. Actually one of the nicest thing about the place is the wonderful people we met there. There's a really beautiful jungle walk to the other side of the island and the bird life is amazing. If you like peace and quiet, away from all the mod cons, then this is it. Basically, you pay your bungalow price and then you buy everything else. The food is quite good. We ordered a fresh fish but for some reason it ended up overcooked and dry, so when we mentioned it, Rich (one of the owners) took it off the bill straight away. Only negative is the sandflies at low tide so make sure you bring a good insect repellent.

Room Tip: They are all good. All away from each other for privacy.

Lazy beach is a unique place: basic living in very close contact with nature, very friendly owners for whom this place really is home. The bungalows are as described and very simple: no glasses nor mosquito nets on the windows, two double beds with mosquito nets, a nice bathroom, often with harmless gecko. The food menu is extensive and good quality, and the great staff will try and accomodate all your requests. The island is beautiful on both sides (though the Lazy Beach side is much cleaner and better kept). We spent some nice days lazying about and lovely evenings playing games (provided by the hotel) and reading.

Our main source of discomfort was the heat at night, which made us sleep very little and uncomfortably. There was almost no breeze from the sea, and it was just very, very warm, so we would get up every morning rather tired and sweaty. [I think we were in bungalow 5.] It was not a big deal as we were not doing too much during the day anyways, but still, this is not ideal for a holiday (we stayed 4 days). Also, we were bitten quite a lot in the sea by some very small insects (which one of the owners said were called sea lice) which are un-harmful but just made swimming unpleasant for us, so we ended up not snorkeling and just spending less time in the water than we wanted to.
