Knockalla Caravan and Camping Park

we were unsure about this campsite after reading the reviews on here but found the campsite excellent. it is located very close to a gorgeous beach and maintained quite well. We stayed for two nights and cant say we had any issues with the aforementioned owner.

We stayed here as a family looking forward 2 fun and relaxation, instead we had the owner constantly being cheeky to our children and after 9 pm ourselves. Must say that the staff are excellent especially when faced with trying 2 placate the owner.

Stayed in the caravan park for a long weekend. It is a great caravan and camping site set in this beautiful part of Donegal. Very close to the beach and if you drive into Portsalon you can try the pier jumping if you're adventurous.
The site itself is very clean and adequate facilities for touring caravans and tents. Yes, the owner could do with being more friendly. I don't think he means to be rude, he runs a very "tight ship" and doesn't allow any nonsense (great if you want peaceand quiet). I think he feels he doesn't have to be friendly as the camp site gets quiet busy without him having to drum up returning trade!!! I spoke to several people who keep going back and thats surely a good sign. It's very safe for the children and the owner keeps an eye out for them and makes sure they are ok.
The shop stalks the basics and does lovely home made buns. The nearest cash point is about 20mins away so bring plenty of euro's with you if you don't want the journey to find an ATM.
All in all we had a great time and will def be going back.

I thought I had had bad luck but on reading rosalija's review I realise that I am not the only one to find the owner an arrogant ignorant moron.

He really spoit our holiday in such a lovely part of Ireland by being truly ignorant when I would have thought it would have been in his interest to be helpful to his visitors.

Never again for us too.
