“great night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014 via mobile

What a delightful place, cosy but not cramped, lovely staff and great food at reasonable prices. They took us in as a group of 10 with no reservation and could not have been more accommodating. They managed to get our food out in a very reasonable time even though they admitted to not being fully staffed as it was a quiet Thursday evening in early April. We all very much enjoyed the food with the steaks getting a special mention. Thanks again to the very kind staff for accommodating us.

“Fantastic Food & Service ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014 via mobile

A dinner to celebrate my mother in laws birthday.
4 adults and 2 kids.

A mouth watering selection on offer. The prawn starter was great and others in the party raved about the haggis tower.
The fillet steak cooked to perfection and served with beautiful fresh plum tomatoes and chips.
My wife ( who is a little fussy ) was over the moon with her steak. A difficult task master when I comes to pleasing her palate.

Pudding was sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. I felt completely satisfied and couldn't eat another thing due to quality size portions.

The kids had their own menu and enjoyed sausage and mash. Served with an onion gravy in a little jar there was no fussing for the wee one who decided onion gravy was not required (well he is three!)

The staff were attentive and could not have done more to help especially with the kids.

All in all a gem of a find. Well worth a visit.

“Best Restaurant I've ever been to”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

Always a friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. You have the opportunity to enjoy a nice drink by the fireplace before being shown to your table. The food is excellent, always well presented and well cooked. I have eaten here many times before and will continue to come back. In addition they have many different wines/beers/ciders to try so you'll never be short of choice. Would urge anyone considering it to give it a go!

“Double birthday treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

We all had 3 courses and from 1st to last we could find no fault . Cooking of the highest order and was worth every penny .It is a quaint inn and refreshingly laid back but we were treated by a friendly and efficient staff .Different starters.mains, sweets all of which were superb, what more can I say 10/10. All for £40 a head including drinks. We will be back.
