“Great place”
Reviewed July 20, 2007

Found this place on the web as it is not somewhere you would just drop on. Very welome approach sat in a comfy chair and cup of tea made quickly before formal details taken. Food plentiful and superb although just one hour for breakfast 8.00am - 9.00am never gave the opportunity for two of us to lie in. We had the the Garden Room which was perfect as we have a dog and with our own front door we could pop to the garden very easy. The room was small but it suited our needs. The en-suite with the walk in shower was big and clean so that made up for the smaller room. l would definatly recommend this hotel as it is ideal to use as a base aswell as having beautiful gargens to spend the sunny days reading a book if you just wanted peace and quiet. Well done to Ian and Mark

Both my husband and myself needed a break away to relax and oh do you relax at Tir Y Coed. From the moment we stepped through the door to the time we left we felt like we were staying with old friends. The service from Alan in the dining room was everything you would want it to be and Ian is a magician in the kitchen - the food was unbelievable.

Sometimes when you look at something on a website it looks wonderful but when you actually see it there can be a slight disappointment, but not with this place the real thing was even better than you could imagine.

Can't wait to go back again for some TLC from Ian and Alan.

....Consider staying in the home of one of your oldest and closest friends....add to this a delightful culinary experience in a 'heaven and earth' surrounding, and you have Tir Y Coed. A very warm welcome from your hosts Ian and Alan; a truly idyllic few days spent in one of the most beautiful areas in Wales - which definately warrants a return visit.......wonderful!!

Stayed there whilst attending out daughter's wedding. Location idyllic, food unbelievably good, comfortable, friendly and quirky.
We will go back and try one of the new rooms!
A real welsh gem, hidden in the hills.

What a wonderful guest house. We recently went on a three week road trip of the UK. Of all the 12 or so places we stayed, this was head and shoulders the best "whole package" of the trip. The house is beautiful, the garden lovely, the rooms exceptionally comfortable and clean, and the area quiet and restful. But the best part was the food. Dinner was by far one of the best meals of our entire trip. All I can say is 'WOW". Fabulous food, in a beautiful dining room.

We found this guest house by accident, and unfortunately had already booked the next night elsewhere. Had we known, we would have extended our time at Tir y Coed.

  • Liked — cleanliness and the great food
  • Disliked — that we couldn't stay longer
  • Tips/Secrets — Book it now. Currently rated 3 diamonds, but better than many 4 diamonds!
