Tyr y Coed Country House is one of the finest places in Britain in which to spend a few days enjoying an aesthetic ambience accompanied by excellent food and unrivalled attention to detail from mein hosts, Ian and Alan. We have stayed there on many occasions and fully intend to continue spoiling ourselves in the future. Words cannot suffice. The best recommendation we can offer is to strongly advise you to go to Tyr y Coed. You will not be disappointed. Treat yourself!

Tir y Coed is a lovely country house which Alan and Ian have decorated so tastefully. Although the rooms look like those out of a glossy design magazine they feel so homely and inviting, you feel free to flop into whichever armchair you chose. This is probably also because Alan and Ian make you feel so at home. They are both so welcoming and remember everyone's name immediately (even my husband's which is particularly tricky). They could certainly teach many a manager of so called 5 star hotels a thing or two about customer service...and this is what really makes the difference to ones stay. I was amazed by the attention to detail and the ability to remember the slightest thing (having asked for additional hot water with my tea at breakfast on the first day, I automatically received it the following days, also having taken camomile after dinner the first night, camomile tea bags appeared with the other hot drinks in our room the next day). Well done!!!

We stayed in Room 3, which had a double aspect, an extremely comfortable bed and high quality bed linen. The only downside was no shower, and the handheld hose over the bath didn't have enough pressure to be of any use. Otherwise I would have given a 5 rating.

The hosts are really good at making you feel welcome and love talking to their guests. My partner and I spent most of our time in the bar area which was a lovely and cosy place to sit and relax after an amazing three course meal. We booked this hotel on a whim and I'm so glad that we did, as this hotel is gem.

I went to Tir y Coed in a party of six for an evening meal as recently advertised. The greeting
was warm and the surroundings both inside and outside were spectacular and comfortable.
We ordered starters and maincourses and after each course every plate was empty of the
delicious food served to us. Excellant ! We were ushered into a lounge where we ordered
and returned to the garden lounge area to eat. The gentleman in charge had taken our names
and from that moment on called us by our names as he served us. A small point but a very
important addition to wonderful service and wonderful food. The menu is varied for all tastes
including grilled steaks, vegetarian, fish and poultry and I find it difficult to fault for that
special occasion....perhaps drinks seemed a little pricey....but the quality of drinks served
was immaculate so I will not criticise because liquor stocking is always expensive. As a final word.....Five star food and five star service. You can not do better !

We have just returned from yet another wonderful visit to Tyr y Coed Country House and would like to compliment Ian and Alan on the recent alterations to their beautiful home. We thoroughly enjoyed wining and dining in the new Garden Room with outstanding vistas over the garden. The extended menu which now includes some innovative dishes from the new assistant chef and the aromatic coffee from Heidi, the perfect coffee machine, all serve to enhance what is already a superb gourmet experience. Thank you Ian and Alan for a brilliant sojourn. See you again soon.

This is the sort of hotel you really don't want to tell people about in the fear that you will never get another reservation. Ian and Alan could not have done more to make us feel welcome. Quick to first names, staying at Ty Mawr really does feel like staying with friends in a large country home rather than a hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and the decor has been chosen with care and attention to detail.

Our only regret was that we stayed only one night. We eat at the restaurant and the food was of a very high standard indeed.

The local area, with the beautiful Conwy has much to offer and we will try and get back for many more nights in future.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor which was very comfortable for us.
