Description: This was our favorite pub on our recent two week trip to London and Wales. It had our favorite meal and favorite ale. The new owners are wonderful. This is NOT the same Ty Gwyn Hotel that is already listed on Trip Advisor. (Ty Gwyn is a popular Welsh name.) Rowen is a very small town, though in a wonderfully scenic tourist area of Wales in Snowdonia National Park.

“Traditional Village Pub”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Four of us ate lunch at the Ty Gwyn on Easter Sunday. The menue on the day was very limited, just a choice of two meats cooked as a Sunday Lunch and a small sweat selection. However the food was well cooked and presented. The beer is J W Lees which is an aquired taste but as i am originally from the Manchester area i aquired it years ago! My brother in law drank red wine and was happy with it. The pub is in the village of Rowen, out of the way but easily accessible from the B5106 Conwy to Llanrwst road. The village is attractive and along with the pub well worth a visit. The pub does not have its own website. If it did i am sure it would increase business. You are unlikely to fall upon this place by accident

“A Little Gem.....................”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

A party of 20 of us who were staying up the hill (and I mean hill ) at the local Youth Hostel
sought rest and refreshment at the Ty Gwyn over the weekend.
We were provided with excellent home cooked food , top quality hand pulled ale, and a great
friendly welcome from the owners and locals alike.
The Welsh singing on Friday night took us a little by suprise but after a few drinks of the excellent "Game On" we were more than happy to join in
Beautiful little village in an stunning area - well worth a visit - we will return.

“February Weekend Break”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Rowen is such a lovely little village near Conwy and has a gem of a pub where you are always made to feel welcome, we have been on a number of occasions on our time spent in this area. We walked there on Saturday with the intention of having an early tea and of course the 6 nations game was on (Wales against Italy) they were serving the most amazing bacon sandwiches to everyone in the pub. We had to decline the second lot as we would not have had room for our meal. Everything is cooked fresh and is very well presented. I cannot wait for Easter when we will be going again.

“Great food in a proper Inn”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

Stayed at Llety Betws which is a short walk away so this was the nearest place to eat.Great location on the edge of the bridge in Betws.A proper old style Inn or coaching house with a rich history. The service was excellent, not rushed, and at all times professional. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented.Very tasty and obviously superbly locally sourced.Beware..you cannot go there for just a drink..but thats the plus...very busy so booking is advisable.
