This informal restaurant, easy to find, is a real treasure, a place for taste treats you may never have enjoyed before. Esther's fruit juices and smoothies are so delicious and let you enjoy fruits that don't travel as well as the familiar tropicals like bananas and pineapple, for example, sorrel, passionfruit, tamarind and soursop. Her menu changes daily so you can eat there frequently and enjoy variety, all of it good: ribs so tender they melt in your mouth; curry chicken and goat, tangy and flavorful; johnny cakes stuffed with cheese or other treats that look like hamburger rolls but are a world away from the mundane; rotis that are so nicely spiced you think about ordering another. And then to finish, Esther makes her own ice cream, truly delicious, rich, wonderful texture, really the best ice cream. Another choice: Esther's wonderful tarts, fresh fruit in a good, short crust with choices we've never had or even heard of before, like guavaberry, not related to guava, and a real treat, but there's coconut and pineapple and other flavors depending on the availability of the fruits of the day. The service is friendly, attentive, and efficient, and when it's not too busy, and you get to talk with Esther, that's a treat in itself.
