First time to the Island and has a wonderfle week. Excellent service and very hospitable. Avoid the Chinese / Thai restaurants on the street as they are expensive, much better value on the beach. Would recommend Casa Del Mar for dinner...

Room Tip: Top floor towards the back of the complex..

I had a short 2 days trip and we chose to stay here . Its amazing in every sense . Location ( loads of restaurants around , 2 in house places , close to the scooter rental , close to duty free , close to underwater world ). The rooms were beautiful and the sitting area outside the villa is very pretty .
The lady taking care of this place pays attention to any requests made and they give you complementary welcome snacks basket and wifi . People in that place are friendly and the place is quite . You also have a great view of the mountains . Cant ask for anything more ,esp if you are looking for a couple s get away .

Villa Molek is a breath of fresh air away from the tackiness of nearby Pantai Cenang. Lovely suites, quiet, peaceful, great staff, relaxed with breakfast served until 1130, all great. Two fabulous restaurants right in front of them as well, Lorenzo's Italian place is excellent! Would throughly recommend staying here if you want to be on Langkawi and take a look round but don't want the hustle and bustle. One recommendation to improve on would be better quality duvets and pillows, these were really cheap and nicer ones would add to the quality of sleep and stay with you!

Room Tip: All the suites are great, can't go wrong

When we first arrived we wondered what we had let ourselves in for as the entrance to the property at first appeared a bit shabby from the car park and two restaurants fronting the complex however we were very pleasantly surprised as we were led through the breakfast, reception area through the garden and into our room which was tastefully decorated and had a sitting room/area and kitchen. Room service maids were efficient and friendly, Ross Li was also. Shai du was great. She really went out of the way to help us in any way she could. She arranged an early breakfast to be sent to our room on the day we checked out, advised us of places to eat and even organised with a local restaurant, a special treat for our wedding anniversary. It is not just the facilities that make a place work but definitely the staff and Villa Molek has super staff. Every day we had fruit in our room and water. There is a great reflexology/ foot massage place run by two lovely people, an Italian and an Indian restaurant in the entrance. Small but adequate swimming pool for chilling out. Book it!

Room Tip: We liked the ground level facing the pool as we just walked onto our veranda and into the pool area.

Intimate exclusive accommodation for couples only. High class rooms with personal hands on service. Special thanks to Shyda who speaks superb English and is a font of knowledge about the area and people. Shyda cannot do enough to help, and the rest of the team also provide courteous service. Rooms are contemporary and all linen is new. A pool, massage facilities and nearby restaurants mean all is at hand. Highly recommend this fabulous retreat to any couple seeking a peaceful beautiful setting and an ultimate relaxing holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay at villa molek for our honeymoon. The staff were very friendly and extremely informative about the surrounding areas and things to do on the island. The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh linen, fresh fruit and water which was great if you were going out for the day. Many of the day trips can be booked from the villa and the trips were very well organised and efficient. There are two restaurants on site, an italian and an indian. We ate one night at the italian, but was more taken with the great cocktail list! Great position for cenang beach and the central strip of bars and restaurants! The breakfast was varied with a selection of fresh fruit, cereals, traditional asian food and a cooked menu. The staff were very attentive in seeing that I had soy milk available for breakfast and even went to the supermarket for us to get insect repellant! Was a great private retreat surrounded by beatiful gardens and views from the balcony. Would definately recommend for family holiday or honeymooners. Thankyou again for a very relaxing holiday!

Room Tip: Have a villa on the top level so you can sit out on the balcony at night.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Molek. The location is perfect - right in between the two main beaches. Admittedly we didn't like either of the beaches since they were dirty and taken over by parasailing operations etc that made it hard to peacefully swim - but that's another story and not the fault of the hotel.

The upside of staying centrally is that you have a good selection of restaurants to eat at, including two good options right at the doorstep. There are also several fruit shops within a short distance and a convenience store where you can get things like extra water (4 bottles are provided every day which was really appreciated). Some good spas are closeby too. Best to rent a scooter (which you can do very nearby as well) to get around because it is very hot and humid and the way Langkawi is structured you have to walk on the roadside, not on a sandy beach path or esplanade to get around.

The rooms at Villa Molek are great - literally felt right at home, with plenty of space and a large kitchen, perfect for storing and tasting all the exotic fruits that the island has to offer (although do note that unfortunately they don't allow durian in the room and there is no hotplate so you can't actually cook). The bathrooms are semi-outdoor which we really liked - you look out onto greenery and a hill. Very tranquil. Oh yes and the gardens here are gorgeous - full of frangipanis, jasmine, hibiscus and other exotic blooms - lovely aromas waft through the air whichever way you walk.

The service is very friendly and helpful - just ask and they will do their best to accommodate. You do need to carry your own luggage to your room though, which for us was a bit of a hot and sweaty proposition after a long trip.

The wifi here was generally ok although from our room, which was the furthest from the reception area, you had to go out onto the balcony to connect and then bring your laptop inside. It wouldn't connect from in the room but once connected was generally ok except for the occasional drop-out. We stayed 4 nights and on the final night I lost connectivity completely for some reason, even when I went out onto the balcony. I suspect the reception area would have worked if it had have been an emergency, but it wasn't really and I was tired so I just logged off and went to sleep. The next morning was the same story but we were checking out so I didn't worry too much. Just something to be aware of if you need reliable wifi (which we generally do since we run a business and need to be contactable).

The other feedback we did have was that the towels were really smelly. To be fair, this was not the first time in Malaysia we have experienced this smell, but for us it is such a stench that we couldn't use the towels at all - a strong mix of something between insect repellent and men's deodorant. I don't know what causes it - presumably the locals can't smell it - but it is quite strong and offputting. The rubbish bin area also got sprayed heavily every day with some kind of bug killer which I presume was determined necessary since we were eating and disposing of fruit... we're naturalists though so all the poisons were a bit offputting (there is also a sprayer thing that automatically sprays poison into your room in timed intervals - we removed this and placed it on the balcony). Again, I'm guessing they probably get guests who freak out when they see bugs so it's a tough one to give advice on. We would rather see bugs than smell poison but that's a personal preference.

We would probably stay at VIlla Molek again if we thought Langkawi was worth another visit... which unfortunately we did not since the island is covered in rubbish and the waters are very polluted. Hopefully one day someone will clean it up and restrict the operations of all the parasailers/jetkiiers etc who control the waters and make for an unsettling and chaotic swimming experience. If they do - we might see you again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the room furthest from reception which we loved since we had the best view of the natur...
