“spoilt roast!!!!”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

first time of eating there under the new management and i can fairly say we won't be going back. We tried the roast dinner, it came out cold!!! sent it back, still not much better the second time round, there was enough veg for 2 people but there was 4 of us!!! no taste to the food. crockery was chipped. service was shocking, waitresses were walking round empty handed but still our table wasn't cleared of empty glasses. will be going else where in future!!!!!!!

“Pretentious rubbish”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

A country pub with a pretentious menu, over priced, over fancy, not a place that I would frequent again.

“A mixed bag!”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Stayed here overnight in room 7. On entering the room was struck with the smallness of it. Bed up against the wall on one side so person sharing it not able to get out without clambering over! Also cobwebs along one wall and in bathroom which should not have been overlooked on cleaning! Another complaint is nowhere to put used towels or to hang clean ones in bathroom.
We were booked in for dinner in the restaurant with family and had a drink in the bar. Would like to recommend the use of bar towels or mats as the bar was swimming with spilt drinks!
Food in restaurant o.k but not brilliant. Were made to feel by the barman after finishing our meal that we should go whilst in the bar he was enjoying himself with the locals!
Having said this breakfast was very good. Would suggest that basket with individual boxes cereals is ditched and a small selection of these along with preserves placed on individual tables.
To sum up breakfast was the saving grace!! With a little effort this could be great value for money.
